Dudes,

Just watching BBC3 "How Drugs Work: Cannabis" this evening, watch it if you can.

What a complete bunch of propaganda, anti cannabis use, using such phrases as ~" the thc hijacks the synapses like a terrorists".

Really badly put together and one sided.

I am sorry but I have become more and more disillusionment with the BBC and their "science" program's.

What used to be a really good source of unbiased information has reduced itself to really low brow over simplification of the subject they are trying to represent.

As someone with Multiple Sclerosis, I can say that any anti-cannibis campaign is a load of shit.  It's not legal in my state medically, but when I have been able to partake it has helped more than any drug the doctor has tried to give me and does not destroy my organs.  But, hey, that's just , like, my own personal experience, man...

That's disappointing from the BBC - I guess I shouldn't be surprised, though; they've been 'dumbing' down for some time. Obviously I don't get BBC tv over here (BBC America is dire) but I have to say, even when I did have the opportunity to watch BBC3,  I was never very impressed with it. It's target audience is for the 20 somethings, I think and they patronize the hell outta them. BBC4 was usually okay, though.

Horizon used to be brilliant.

I find it too has been considerably dumbed down.

I don't know if it's because I have become more informed as I get older or if it is the BBC have re-targeted their perfect audience.

It is probably an element of both  - I guess if you have more channels you can target your audiences a bit more (similar to their radio stations). However, there is no denying that the great majority of  their programing is shite. However, I still think it's worth the license fee (just) when you consider the national and local radio coverage as well as the TV. I still think that the BBC is a great cultural achievement - but then I could just be suffering from a case of sentimentality. Not happy to hear of their recent spout of anti-marijuana propaganda, though.

Rev. Gary (revgms)

Was BBC bought by Fox news recently?

Something is fucked here Dudes!

Why do they insist on retarding science and decent society?

It is 100% asinine to allow alcohol and cigarettes and not the scientifically proven SAFER alternative, cannabis. I have already made the case else where, it is legitimate and right to call prohibitionists retards, as they are retarding human social evolution. It is not defamation if it's true.

Caesar dude

QuoteHorizon used to be brilliant.

Horizon has not been brilliant for many years now...it used to be cutting edge with information and technology that was brand new...and delivered as such. I remember watching it as part of lectures "the bullseye war" springs to mind.

It used to be a programme that was unbiased and gave equal time to both sides leaving the viewer to make up his mind (or totally confused!) It now seems to have an agenda which can be spotted at the outset.

I used to watch Horizon knowing I was going to be amazed....I now watch the first ten minutes to see if I will be entertained. Sad.
Love is like a butterfly it goes where it pleases and it pleases where it goes. :)

Cake I am beginning to doubt the worth of the license fee.
Too many cheap "reality" programs fill the tv stations (I understand the economics, it is cheaper to put a camera crew into a persons living room, than it is to budget for costumes, actors, script writers, and sets, for a period drama).

revgms Murdoch has bought everything else, he owns ninety percent of the news papers in the UK, and has been allowed to bid for a bigger part of BSkyB. There's too many prominent police and doctors beginning to back the case to legalise "drugs".

Caesar I'm just turning into one of those old gits that sit and shout at the telly in the evening. Over xmas I watched a program on the BBC about xmas trees, it was entirely wrong and left out so many historical details. I was livid.

Rev. Gary (revgms)

Murdoch deserves the Pornographer of the year award.

We are starting to kick ass over here across the pond, the reform movement is getting huge. People are challenging this stupidity at every chance now, they couldn't seat a jury, because everyone said they would be unwilling to convict any one on a pot possession, Colorado has already started collecting tax revenue from pot sales, and Maine just issued the first lic to sell Medical.

2012, the prohibition policy will be torn down. States are jumping of the fail train like crazy, the fed has to wake up soon.

Paying for shit like reality TV would get old fast. Too much more of that shit (like they have puked all over American TV/Cable) and I would be shouting OVER THE LINE! Not to mention; where's the fuckin' money BBC?!!

Rev. Gary (revgms)

Yeah it's hard to feel sorry for you BBC guys, after the way they dumbed down our Tv including so called learning channels.

For the most part I just avoid TV these days, DVR man, catch that one out of a hundred worth seeing.
