Hey, guys. My school recently took about $10K from my financial aid, and now I have to get a loan worth about $20K (Fees and other loans and shit, Dude) to keep on going. Fucking flipping out about this, and probably having to apply to another school that's cheaper and closer to home. Fucking feel like just dropping out and not giving a shit, but I still wanna get a job doing shit I love, you know? I'm at the end of my rope right now, and some Dudeist help is something I can definitely use right about now.

If you have a job now start by looking in to what the company offers for tuition reimbursement.

I've been having issues with financial aid and college. I hate to say it, dude, but it never gets any easier with these fucking fascists. I wish that I could say that most of my college experience was spent in a Dudely haze, occupying various administrative buildings and such, but honestly I was more like Walter when it came to dealing with these cowards.

It's difficult, trying to be Dude in a very undude world, and I think college is one of the least Dude environments in which a person can try to remain calm.

Also, college is pretty expensive. As someone who's in massive debt after years at a university, I can tell you that I wish I'd taken my general education classes at a community college and transferred afterwards. Took me three years of university to figure out what it was exactly that I wanted.

Shit cost be about $40K last year, and I had enough financial aid to back it up for a while. Then this year rolls around and it bumped up to $45K, man. And then when you owe extra money to them for various fees, they never call you. College can be Dudely for me if it wasn't for the fucking fascists in the said various administrative buildings. Rude human paraquats who treat you like dog shit just because you owe a few K to the school. I'm in Engineering, so finding classes at a community college is going to be exceedingly difficult (except for math, and physics and shit). And I've read your story, man. Fucking rug pee-ers and fascists. My main thing is that I don't know how to handle this like a Dude and without having to constantly resort to being a Walter all the god damn time.

I can't be worried too much about this shit. I'll just feed the monkey later on and get a loan for the year and come back home and start school here. One step at a time, Dudes. All while abiding.

Also, I agree moreso with the concept of tackling on difficulties in order to become stronger from it. It might sound like a Walter move, but it can be extremely Dudely of myself and anyone who follows it.

Sorry about quoting the Dude De Ching without signaling, but I am not very good at giving advice dude...don't really know what to do about half my own shit. Thought maybe we could find something in the Dude De Ching to help.
But sometimes there's a man...and I'm talking about Walter here dude...sometimes Walter is just the man for a certain time and place. He fits right in there.

It's all good, man. It's like what Lenin said..... lost my train of thought here, but Lenin was a dude as well. Acted like a Walter a good majority of the time, but he was a dude as well. And actually it did help me some; it taught me not to give a shit about too much and to just relax and focus my energies onto more positive things instead of the negative, man. And I thought Dudeism was more about acting like the Dude and less like a Walter.

Fuckin' a, man. You gotta draw a line in the sand, and you can't abide unchecked aggression coming from nihilists and rug pee-ers. It's like what you said, there's a time and a place to be a Walter, but we should strive to abide, man. Just take shit as it comes and take it easy, man. Even though I'm Dude-level unemployed (meaning I've never held a steady job in my entire life), I don't let that shit worry me.

Even the Dude acts very undude at times, usually because of rug-peers, not unlike your situation with the financial aid folks. Am I wrong?

We should always strive to be more chill and to abide, but pacifism is nothing to hide behind. Sometimes being the man for his time in place means being like Walter for five minutes so you CAN be Dude-like for a more extended time frame.

But that's just like, my opinion, man.

I feel I'm going to get my Walter on tomorrow afternoon when I have to call these rug pee-ers about various cash amounts I owe aside from the 20K those fuckin' Fascists took away from me. It wouldn't happen if the staff at Enrollment Services weren't so god damn rude all the time. Very undudely people. One time I went to register for classes and they said I had a medical hold on my account, so I couldn't register for classes. So naturally I asked what for, and the rug pee-er flipped shit and told me that she didn't know and that I should call them on their phone and move along. Another time is when I got chewed out for just asking what next year's tuition was gonna be. Bunch of fucking nihilists, Dude.
