Like they say, we have canine teeth for a reason.  I do love cow parts...

Those are good burgers, Walter.

We do, but compared to almost every other animal on the planet they're woefully underdeveloped.  From what I've read, most anthropologists believe human physiology is (or was) more similar to that of herbivores, and that humans evolved into being omnivores in order to survive.  If I had to I could probably become a vegetarian, but I wouldn't be happy about it because I likes my beef and chicken.  ;D

Not a vegan here. More power to anyone going for it, though. From a purely intellectual and moral standpoint, it's pretty unassailable. I'm wussing out and taking a middle-ground of sorts: still eating meat but trying damned hard to source it from (relatively) humane and healthier sources. Especially after watching "Food, Inc." a couple times.

I just can't look at the big-ass meat counter full of formerly moving things pumped full of steroids and antibiotics, stuffed in cages only marginally larger than their bodies, and then slaughtered without ever setting foot on grass.I get the whole circle of life thing. I enjoy partaking in it. But, man, you don't need to be a rocket surgeon (or Peter Singer) to see some moral failings in the industrial food complex our societies have created.

I'm very un-vegan. A diet of meat, cheese, eggs and vegetables has been of great benefit. Used to have weight and health issues, then I cut out all the crap and sorted it all out.

I respect other people's choices. Though I often find myself agreeing with this sketch..

Not for nothin', but how are you going to drink a Caucasian on a vegan diet?

Have you ever made a Russian with soy milk? I have (desperate times, desperate measures), and I did not have to be careful, because there was no beverage there.

Also I'm under the impression that it was the increase in protien that comes with meat eating that helped our distant relatives "think" more constructively and help with tool creation.

Another Old Dude

Why? Years ago my old lady convinced me and the kids to follow that vegetarian trail. Dude. I couldn't do it for more than a couple of days. The kids and I chose the Big Mac and fries over tofu, beets and carrots. She ain't my old lady anymore. Life is good.

Hominid

There's a reason they call our "old lady" SWMBO.

Are they Kosher Vegans? (actually that's just down to how you kill them).

Personally I feel I could kill and prepare the meat if I had to so I have no problems (or delusions) as to what it is and where it comes from, hand me the fluffy bunny and the meat cleaver there!
