I was wondering if the Ford Taurus is the Torino of our generation. The names are linguistically similar and it is the mode of transportation of so many dudish fellers and females of little means or desire for motorized symbols of status.  Mine is white with a bit of rust coloration. My CD player went to shit so my creedence is stuck in the dash. Serendipitous?

I've also wondered this..seems like a pretty dudely car. I, on the other hand, drive an older Miata with some, uh, clear coat issues/paint fading...and my driver's side window no longer rolls down.

It's all good, though, my CD player still works and there was a CD of Creedence greatest hits in the player when I bought the car. Good to know I bought it from a fellow Dude.

IMO the important thing about the dude's car is that he is perfectly happy with it. If he ever dreamed of taking the big l's money I doubt that a new car would be first on the list of purchases. His lack of concern for the things of social status is both commendable and in keeping with the principles outlined in the port Huron statement. The original of course. Not the compromised second draft. He does not have a fundamental respect for wealth or accomplishment. He sees through it notices the truth about ill gotten gain. He sees that Jackie treats objects like women. He loves them more than real people and uses people and their bodies to secure material wealth.
People mater more to the dude than things and he understands what happens when you fuck a stranger in the ass.

Well said.

I've also never been one to really care what I drive, as long as it gets me where I'm going and my tape deck is intact.
