Is it me, or have things got really fucking uptight around here?  IMHO, if this here forum needs to be sanitised for politically correct at-work viewing, we've missed the whole point of taking it easy.  If that's what all you admins want, I'd like to know...  Otherwise, please chill out.

To be clear, I completely agree with your observations that some people are overly sensitive and seem to be constantly searching for any subject to take issue with.  But isn't a part of Dudeism being mindful of the opinions and feelings of others and being considerate to those people regardless of whether we agree or disagree with them?

Also, while this forum is considerably more lenient with regards to language and subject matter than all of the others I regularly frequent, the moderators are here for a reason--this is their beach community, and we're allowed to hang out here only as long as we don't start sucking around bothering the other citizens.  This isn't 'Nam, there are rules.  Now, I didn't see what Meekon5 saw in the photo that Bluedude posted, but that doesn't mean it didn't exist.  He chose to draw a line in the sand, a modest task that was his charge, and you have to admit that rarely happens here.  It wasn't personal, he was just doing what he's supposed to do.  Nothing is fucked here, Dudes, so just take it easy, grab an oat soda, a Caucasian, a J, or what-have-you, and fuck it, let's go bowling.

If he was rude he should apologize, and if he doesn't like it I suggested he ban me rather than call me a lair. I did clean up my act, as suggested, the fella just didn't like the push back. I don't have a dog in this fight, so I'm hoping my comments here won't be interpreted as taking Meekon5's side in this disagreement; I'm simply expressing my thoughts and opinions based on what I've read and seen in this thread.

Having taken a closer look at the photo you posted, I can see how some people might think it's Photoshopped; the somewhat low visual quality and sharp lines around the womens' hair (in contrast to the darker background) suggest some editing may have been done.  I don't believe it's been altered myself, but I can understand why some people might.  And, if I remember correctly (and I could easily be wrong), in your original post you did mention that a small amount of editing had been done; it was after the fact that you were more specific about what that editing consisted of (i.e. cropping and the addition of "shades").

Also, after re-reading Meekon5's comments, I don't believe he was attempting to be deliberately insulting or rude; he was trying to explain his actions/comments based on his opinion that the photo you posted had been altered to suggest some form of sexual activity, and he never directly called you a liar.

That being said, I am in no way attempting to say either of you were right or wrong, but simply, in my opinion, that the entire matter was nothing more than a misunderstanding that escalated into what it became.  And on a semi-related note, in over a decade of participating on forums such as this I've rarely seen a moderator explain their actions publicly, and I've never seen one publicly apologize for doing what they believed at the time was right.  If that's perceived as fascist aggression, so be it, but I don't think it's anything more than part and parcel of being a moderator.
