My Dudeist Philosophy.

Been throwing around the idea of typeing up my own dudeist books...
I got some down what ya think....


We are all one way or another part of the machine.
But yet, What is a cog that refuses to turn.
What is a belt that refuses to move.
well that... Well that is a dude.
One who relizes that life is more then stuff.
It's more then reachin for society's goals
It is more then being a cog in the machine.

In a world were society tries to dictate every thing about you.
What you were, What you want to be, How to live.
What not to smoke, Don't drink to much, Get a job you bum.
Why can't it just let a dude abide, In a world were hate in standerd.
Were reactinaries succced becouse they react. And the dude..
Well the dude abides, And nothing pisses the machine of more.
Then a dude who can abide.

At the risk of being confrontational (yeh right):

If all the world (universe) is a machine then it's everyone else that are the cogs and belts trying to move against the motion, the Dudeist not just the Dude as I don't agree with personification of the religion in a single person, the Dude is not my messiah, "If you see the Dude on the Street kill him!", The Dudeist is the one element that is not fighting against the Tao, but is flowing with it.

Though I will agree about it not being a cog in the machine, but only if the machine is the capitalist machine where your only worth is the amount you consume.

You have to be careful with statements of what your Dudeism is:

The problem is that the dude you are talking about thinks that there is only one form of dudeism ... that would presuppose that Dudeism is one thing, and one thing only; a single set of "dudeism principles" and a "single catechism" to be followed.

In reality, dudeism is fluid and different for each dude; it is as unique as each dude is. ...

I get that your trying to define your Dudeism for your self but see no use in My Dudeism is this conversations.

I re-read this and it seems a lot harsher than it's meant.

What I'm trying to say is don't bother yourself in statements of what you are (and Your Dudeism is this) and just dive into the forum and join in some of the conversations, I think its there that the real "My view on Dudeism" actually comes out, in the interaction and interplay of the different people as we crash off each others ideas and slowly begin to polish the rough ideas into a way of being.

There again myself coming from a Zen Taoist background, Dudeism is about what you do.

The spoken Dudeism is not the true Dudeism, the empty vessel makes the most noise.

He says making loads of noise as usual.

Abide, communicate, be, don't preach.

It's just like my opinion dude, but I would like to think all opinions are welcome...just as long as we know they are just like our opinions.
Like Rev Meekon5 points out...Dudeism is all about none preachiness!
Pull up a rug dude and smoke em if you got em!

Well, ok, we are all part of 'The Machine', but we need to not refuse to turn, but simply find a way of turning that's more beneficial.  A machine does indeed only work if all the parts function as needbe, but some of them can sometimes slow down and in turn the machine will slow as well.

Essentially, I agree with the spirit of the statement, Jonsey   We all have a part to play, but we get to dictate our own function and how best to benefit society without playing ball with the 'almighty overlords' as they deem themselves (aka, The Man )

I know i've had mine alot lately. lotta heinous vibes and undudelike thoughts. trying to purge it out and get back to the stress free dudeliness i try and support. thanks to all my fellow dudes who remind me of what we were all here for.
