Hey dudes,
I recently finally got around to watching The Big Lebowski (great movie by the way), and after one thing leading to another (that's life, right?) I happened across The Church of the Latter-Day Dude. And man, the second I started reading about it I knew this was the thing for me. I've always kept a laid-back attitude about life, sometimes bad things happen, but if you just let it take over your life you'll be living a life of stress and worry before you know it. So many things about this religion appeal to me. It's, in one word, the perfect religion for me. So dudes, here I am, and I'm loving it. (I've also been ordained of course, which is awesome.)

Welcome, man. My only recommendation is to re-watch The Big Lebowski several times. I get something new out of each viewing.

Welcome.  I agree with the others, the first time watching it is great, but nothing like the 10th time.  You really get all the subtle Taoist nuances and the underlying tones.  My suggestion is to do what your parents did, get the books sir! The Tao of the Dude and The Abide Guide are great starts, but also get a small copy of the Tao Te Ching.  The Tao Te Ching is the ultimate chill the fuck out guide, and that is life changing.  Good luck on your journey man, and remember, life never gets too complicated to just say, ah fuck it.

Hi dudes, this is my first post on reddit. I was asking myself if it's really possible to have such a life as the Dude has in The Big Lebowski, like, nowadays. Tbh to have such a chill life and almost no obligations sounds like heaven to me. But can you really obtain that(?), considering you do have to work in order to have a sustainable income and therefore a life without any serious economic issues.
