Far out....

Space rock is the coolest. I love to kick back with a joint and listen to this.

Check out the band Om, I'm pretty sure if you dig Samsara, you'd dig them

I've tried getting into heavier doomy stuff like Sleep, Bongzilla etc, but it doesn't hook me in like SBE.

I like music to take me somewhere, not crush me. It's cool, just not my bag.

Jianblade

What other bands in that vein do you like? I really dig bands like Asteroid, SBE, My Sleeping Karma, and Weird Owl.

I've only recently found them (SBE) on YouTube, while looking at Goastt (ghost of a sabre tooth tiger), but I like Colour Haze and My Sleeping karma too. (Maybe it's a German thing).

Am really into Floyd and a few other 70's throwback bands and I used to listen to heavier stuff (Slayer, Rammstein, BLS) and still do on occasion, though my taste has mellowed with age.

Maybe I'll give Om, Sleep, Orange Goblin etc another listen. Perhaps I wasn't stoned enough!

A channel on YouTube you should check out, Stoned Meadow of Doom, is full of all kinds of Stoner Rock, you aughta take a look at :)

I get that the heavier end of Doom Metal isn't everyone's gig.

Also, do you listen to any Rainbow or Dio era Sabbath?

Also, speaking of Floyd throw-back bands... check out this cover of Echoes by band also called Echoes

Far out mang.

I think echoes is easy to learn, but hard to master. I don't think even Pink Floyd can match the Pompeii version.

As for Dio, I never really got into it, or Rainbow. I grew up with my house filled with classical music, brass bands, jazz, that kinda stuff. Luckily, a friend's parents were into Hendrix, Floyd, Sabbath, The who, Zeppelin etc, which was also about the same time I discovered pot!

Since then, I've stuck with anything that moves me in some way, whether it was classical music, heavy metal, jazz, blues, psychedelic stoner rock or down right funky. (I'm sure I'm not alone here).

Have checked out this channel after your suggestion and it was worth it. There's so much monster riffage, I'll run out of weed way before tunes! Thankee mang!
