Lynda Bellingham: Tributes paid after actress dies at 66

DB's head is bowed.  :'( One of my favorite British actors.

The actress, best known for her long-running role as a mother in the Oxo TV adverts, had been battling colon cancer since being diagnosed in July 2013. And...

Bellingham said she had planned to end her treatment to limit her family's suffering after it spread to her lungs and liver. In a statement on behalf of Bellingham's family, Mrs Latimer said: "Lynda died peacefully in her husband's arms yesterday at a London hospital. "Her family would like to thank the nurses and staff for their tremendous care and support." She added: "Actor, writer and presenter - to the end Lynda was a consummate professional."

Bellingham was also known for shows such as All Creatures Great and Small and in recent years was on the panel of ITV's Loose Women.

I just saw this on the BBC website. It's a shame.

You get to a certain age and all the great actors (rock stars, personalities) in your life begin to die off around you.

The greats, man; they can't be replaced. :(

Not to mention family and friends.  There was a line in the fourth Indiana Jones movie, uttered while Indy was lamenting the loss of both his father and one of his close friends and associate, that really stuck with me:  "We seem to have reached the age when life stops giving us things and starts taking them away."  Now, I don't believe there's a specific age at which this happens to everyone, but I do believe this realization comes to most people at some point in their lives (providing they live long enough, that is).  I've passed that age myself, so I thought this single line of dialogue was rather profound.
I don't go to church on Sunday
Don't get on my knees to pray
Don't memorize the books of the Bible
I got my own special way

Fuckin' eh.
