I just wanted to share this with you, it's from a political party conference but the speech itself is very good:

Harry Smith, 91, brings tears to Labour delegates' eyes.

I know the subject is the National Health Service (which some of the American Dudes get a bit funny about) but as said:

Most people  in the US who get "funny about it" have fully and truly "drank the cool aid" IMO.
Ain't it funny how a certain brand of "revolutionary" who get their views from the TV set end up with views that line up with big business interests like the insurance industry.
I've experienced nationalized health care and noticed mostly no difference except for the positive that you get to choose your provider rather than worrying about things like health care networks and crap like that.

I've always loved that one of your (British) major parties is called the "Labor Party".
Politics that aligns with the age old labor 'vs' management paradigm.
Somehow people today don't seem to realize what their great grandparents fought for.

Poignant sentiments ably expressed. I think he's mistaken on cause-and-effect but would be glad to have that communicative ability at 91...or, hell, now.
