We're picking up some ducks from the hatchery today and our credit card statement just came in with a charge for twice what the cost should have been.

I left them a phone message mentioning how many ducks we're picking up, and that we're picking them up.  Hope it's a simple double charge and not something like they shipped them...someplace or maybe  they have geese for us or something. The mind boggles at how this could go wrong.  :)

Why a duck?
It's...It's deep water, that's why a duck. It's deep water.

I called them again and got a human.  "What will call?  We shipped your ducks this morning which is why the high charge on the credit card."

I filed a complaint with the credit card company for half the bill.

The owner of the hatchery then contacted me and said they're refunding the postage.  Not half the bill but I'll take it (they did, after all, save me from driving there).

I got a call at 7am from the Postal Orifice, I could pick up the ducks after 8am which we did.  They seem well.

Updated our duck pictures, amazing how fast they're growing compared to our chickens.

We've been leaving the ducklings outside in their new home (with fencing so they can't get into the chicken run or yard yet) for a few hours per day for the last few days.  Well, today they decided they LIKE it out there and didn't want to come in.  Nope, not going to cooperate, no way, hold my breath until I'm blue.

There was much complaining, a bit of escaping, thrashing, gnashing of teeth (and bills), but they're all back inside for the night.

So, I guess tomorrow we move the brooder out to their new quarters and move them out there permanently.

No, there's not a video of me chasing them around.
