You answered your own question here, man. From what I can ascertain from my few visits, this place is designed mainly as a humorous retreat for fans of the Big Lebowski. That being said, the degree to which people may take 'Dudeism' seriously will vary from person to person.

On a level of seriousness as compared to many other religions of the world which demand all sorts of self sacrifices and various kinds of eternal servitude, this is by far one of the least serious of religions around, even among its parody religion contemporaries, discounting Frisbeetarianism and perhaps the Church of the Holy Donut as well...

To conclude this short diatribe, we all appreciate your concern for our public image and well being. We respectfully disagree with your labeling us as 'retarded' and wish you the best in all your future swim meets and whatever other endeavors you may pursue in the future, outside of trolling our humble message board community.
