A Dudeist's view of the debt ceiling "crisis"

After watching congressional Republicans unceremoniously raise the debt ceiling seven times under former president George W. Bush, I find it easy to dismiss all the blathering about the doom and gloom scenarios as well as this new-found fiscal responsibility in Washington.

"Stop the spending" is the new mantra among the goofy, most of whom fail to realize that millionaire tax cuts equal "spending."

It's empire baby, and this train ain't stopping until it derails. I'd worry more about things you can actually have an impact on, like global warming dude!

Quote"My take: The corporate elite are the ones in control of these United States in 2011, and if their government can?t borrow any money, they won?t get any more handouts. Because of this, I fully expect a ?deal? by August 2.

We are living in a time of record corporate profit growth and runaway unemployment.

The richest people and the richest corporations bear the lowest tax burden in history, yet the debate continues to center around cutting Social Security benefits, food stamps, and other safety net programs that help the poorest people instead of making those that have money actually pay some of it in the form of taxes. It is stupid and insane and is the reason people laugh at us around the world today."

Boy that's a fucking mouthful, man. Sickeningly true too. It's fucked out there,
or as The "Big" Lebowski might say, THE GOD DAMNED PLANE HAS CRASHED INTO THE MOUNTAIN!!!

I do my best to mind my own affairs. I find worrying about the government's doings and the corporate cocksuckin fucks just makes me very uptight.  It's sure interesting to talk about though, in a train wreck sort of way.
"Is this a... what day is this???"

Fuckin' A, man! You hit the nail on the head. Well, that's my opinion. We are well and truly fucked. And the rest of the world is cheering us on.
