If anyone out there has ever performed a wedding ceremony, I'd love to hear what you did.  I'm marrying a couple next month and they want a short, light-hearted ceremony.

The first one I ever did was for a Jewish girl and her agnostic husband. It was vaguely  JudeoChristian, and I sort of remember my part.

The few since then have been non-religious. If I can find any of my writings tonight or tomorrow I'll post them.

Yo evabowie, just dropped in your post to say welcome, mang! Good to see you here. We gotta a nice beach community going on, grab a place on the rug and abide, dude!

I never did any ceremony, yet, but I have an idea of what seems like the ideal dudeist wedding ceremony, but its just my opinion, man. The couple walks up to the altar (bar) and stands on the rug that will really tie their lives togather. The priest mixes three Caucasians, one for himself and one for each soon-to-be spouse. The couple then says their woes, if they are into that sorta thing. The priest says a few words, toasts with the man and wife. The couple cross arms and take a sip, then the bride takes out a j and hands it to the groom to light it up. The newlywed couple passes it between themselves and they feel like it they kiss. I think it?s short and sweet, just the way I want my wedding to look like. Also, if I ever get a request to do a wedding, this is what I'll suggest.

Im doin one the day after tomorrow, and I'm not gona lie. I'm just takin er' easy. The bride and groom chose to wear Hawaiian shirts. I chose the signature dude sweater. I am also not going to lie, I did just scooped about 3 different weddings together, made a sand castle, and just added some towers and details. The best advise I can give you is make sure the legal stuff is taken care of, and dont overthink it.

Have the groom and his special lady drop two seeds into soil that is laid into a large coffee can purchased from Ralph's (or a reasonable facsimile), which can symbolize the growth of their love over time. Such a receptacle can not only see a dearly departed out of this mortal coil (though hopefully not on anyone's face), but can also usher in new life and love. They can then transfer the resulting buds (or what have you) into a more suitable abode that can help tie their room together. It need not be such a complex, uh, you know?
