The Illuminati Owl on the US Dollar Bill

So dudes, I'm wondering if anyone has a theory as to why, what is believed to be a symbol of the "Illuminati," "the Illuminati owl;" a suspected occult symbol, is on the US Dollar bill? Take a close look at one in your wallet with a magnifying glass (interesting, eh?)...

I was always told that it was a spider, but who knows?

This is really interesting dude.  Its on my list to study the Illumanati in depth.  Alan Moore got me interested in them with the graphic novel From Hell.

Maybe it suits the people in power to have a myth out there that there are creepy un-dudes ready to take over if we don't support them.
