What is amazing is that the penalties for weed possession are less in New York State than in Vermont. I wouldn't have thought that. I always assumed that Vermont would be more lenient.

BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) ? Voters in the Vermont city of Burlington will be asked in November whether they would support legalizing and taxing marijuana.

The Burlington City Council on Monday approved several measures for the November ballot, including the pot question.
