I know that there isnt a fixed set of rules guiding Dudeism and that it shares its charicaristics with the everchanging/flowing Tao.

But im curious about how my fellow dudes manage to live the life of the Dude.
Would you say that following the dudely ways is something that comes natural or is it something that is something you strive to uphold in your everday lives?

I wrote before...only half in jest...that I prefer Dudeism over Buddhism because Dudeism has lower standards and even lower expectations. I like that in a religion/philosophy/way of life or what have you.
When I speak of The Dude character from The Big Lebowski I do so mostly tongue in cheek but when I talk about the essence of what that fictional character portrays I do so with a little more sincerity. We are speaking of a bit of Taoism here...at least the parts that make sense to us in a modern day environment. The middle way...the way of takin' er easy and trying to abide in a world of Reactionaries, Human Paraquats and religious fanatics.
Yes we know The Dude is a fictional character, but then All religions are founded on Fictional Characters...and all religions with a deity and dogma turn out to be just a load of shite...and very dangerous...they hang Love on the door, but preach Hate to the pews.
For me; after working through the frickin mess that substitutes for Truth out there and finding none at all, I came to the conclusion that the only purpose of Life was to Live it...Dudeism came as a nice comfortable refuge and a very good fit with my Do No Harm philosophy. You can not do much harm if you're just hanging out taken it easy trying to abide the best you can.
For me, Dudeism is a refuge from all the Pretentious Nonsense and  Insanity out there. I find Dudeism comfortable and cozy...like The Dude's sweater.

Pull up a rug dude and stick around for awhile...and find out for yourself what Dudeism is all about. 8)

Being naturally lazy I find it rather easy to follow the Way of The Dude, but from time to time someone or something Will get my Walter up and I find I need to tell myself to take er easy and Abide...Not Always Easy  in a world filled with human paraquats and religious fanatics!
There are not Answers.....there are only Choices.

Kinda like CCkeiser, I'm pretty naturally lazy too. I tend to follow Dudeist ethos pretty much by just being myself. I don't try to be something else, I don't try to hide what I am or what I'm into (To a certain extent). A friend of mine summed it up pretty well by saying that while he'll get far in life because he can blag his way through t, I'll get far in life "Simply because you just don't give a shit what people think."
That kinda ties it all together for me. Rather than living for some greater purpose or looking far ahead in my future, I just live for the present, not really planning too far ahead and just taking life as it comes. For example, while all my friends are busy right about now, when they're not studying for finals, planning their holidays for the summer, things like Inter-railing, exchange trips, youth hostels, weekend coventions, festivals, all that stuff. Me, I'm gonna kick back at a lakeside cabin in the States for a week, and after that, I'll just do stuff on a whim.

Work, the world, it can all add up pretty quick.  I have an innate ability to say "fuck it" pretty easily. Just today i decided that it would be much better to simply abide and took a "mental health day". And i find for myself that is the most important aspect to a Dudely ethos...the ability to let it go and just be with no care as to what others think of it.

Hey rajeshbiswal dude, welcome to dudetopia! Grab a rug and abide, mang. Bar's over there.

Seriously

Basically going wth the flow. Never thinking too much because its pointless. Your thoughts can't control what people do or say. I guess going with the flow of life
