Cool stuff! I've launched a few model rockets in my time, but nothing like that one! My niece's husband was into high-powered rocketry - they send off huge rockets that require air clearance! It's a fun family-oriented hobby, that's for sure.

It's a great hobby, I used to do it as a kid/teenager. Check this bad ass one out, almost looks real.......

I can't believe that project was actually underwritten... who paid for it?  What a hoot ...

Far fucking out, man! That gives me an idea; maybe I can get the EU to fund my dudeist life style! A "Dude in Space" project. ;D Or if not in space, just fund my quest to be a life time slacking dude. ;D

i paid for it, along with all other british tv license holders. now i appreciate some people hate top gear but i cant think of another tv program that could get away with trying to launch a car into space.

Personally I would like that bit of the license fee back (the bit that goes towards feeding Clarksons ego and making him think he has anything worth listening to at all, so in fact the bit that covers top gear entirely).
