The grass is always greener across the pond.
IMHO people are pretty much the same. There are always differences but not stark ones.
To say that people are less boring here in the US is not particularly true.
We have our share of drab culture for sure. I mean just look at American TV.
American Idol being the most popular TV show in history. Basically karaoke.
Don't even get me started on that. I think we've turned into a tabloid wasteland of unoriginality and bland regurgitated crap. We used to make great movies for instance. Now unless you like superhero's you are mostly out of luck. It's turned to crass commercialism.
And if you don't like people saying that England is the greatest country in the world. OMG.
It is so engrained in us here in the US that we are the greatest that we can't even believe it when other countries don't agree. I mean it actually surprises people to find that out.

Nice one, Biker!  That was exactly my point.  Everywhere has its ups and downs.  Nowhere is perfect.  The key to enjoying where to are is to pick up on what's good and make peace with what's bad (and try and rectify it where possible).

If you idealise your own home you're deluding yourself and shutting the rest of the world out.
If you condemn your own home you'll never be happy until you find a way to get out... which ain't easy!

And, PS, I'm really really sorry on behalf of my entire nation for letting Simon Cowell bring Pop Idol, The X-Factor and Britain's Got Talent over to the US.  Now you know our pain!  In exchange you gave us Don't Forget the Lyrics and we managed to consign that to Channel 5 where it couldn't hurt anyone ;)

I'm also unconditionally sorry that venomous, shit-spouting, amoral fuckwit Piers Morgan has established himself in your media (although I'd rather he stayed there than came back :P).  You have my deepest condolances.

Yes, but you gave us "Who's Line Is It Anyways". We'll forgive your other transgressions.  ;)

I forgot my own advice about not focusing on the negative ;)  Well-spotted!

Yeah, I didn't want to take up too much space with my description.  Afterall, there are so many words in the dictionary of a negative connotation... I might have had to make some new ones up :P

Oh and by the way. In my estimation this is a troll.

You might be right, so his account was "closed." He might have been a previous member that asked to have his account deleted. This forum was just not his kind of rug I guess.

Quotethat venomous, shit-spouting, amoral fuckwit Piers Morgan

Can America possibly realise how much that twat is detested over here ...well by anyone with a brain....and as for Ms Holden....don't get me started! The pair were made for each other!

Now what the fuck is it about Hampshire? It's beautiful...absolutely stunning...I recall cycling to work around 5 am when 5 deer jumped from one field onto the road about 10 feet in front of me over the hedge and into the next field...made my heart sing...I tell thee....got my own back later in the day by flying low level in a Chinook over a heard of their compeers...;)

Hampshire: Home of the Paras and the UK Helicopter Force and Rich Twats.....and of course the likes of Rev Ed and Meekon and Klaus and our recently imploded dude! WTF is going on?

Loved the countryside and the proximity to London....wasn't so sure of the gentry though...we used to have NOTAMS  (Notice to Airmen, FAA Guidlines) issued to ensure we wouldn't fly across farmland if they were going to be fox hunting that day! Ignored of course and indeed we would actively chase the foxes if we seen them! Tally Ho....Toffs away day spoiled! :)
