Caesar dude

I finally caved in and came into the digital age by buying a new 32" flat screen TV today.

I've been getting by for years with a tiny tv even though I have an all singing and dancing subscription to Virgin media which allows me to watch my football... (soccer if you will to all the American dudes).

However I hate the man and all he stands for and I never wanted to succumb to the consumerism that everyone else falls prey to.

Last night I decided to bite the bullet and buy the cheapest non branded flat screen I could, so I browsed online and found a 32" with built in dvd player for 230 quid...ordered it online to pick up today so they would reserve it for me as it's a bargain and there were only two left in stock.

I pitched up at the store only to find that they'd sold it to some other fucker by mistake!

I put my dude head instead of the walter that was screaming to be released and asked the manager what he was going to do about it....so he gave me a Toshiba 32" worth 289 pounds for the same price....

I've ended up with a really good branded tv! What a sellout!

Sorry dudes!  ???

It would seem that dudely wisdom paid off for you, CD. Way cool! Now my question is, are you going to watch The Big Lebowski on your new TV?  ;D

Caesar dude

Now that sir is a damned fine idea! I've only ever watched the mighty film on my little 14" crt or my laptop...this is going to be an event!

Not tonight though...will save it for kerobotsmas!

I've just been given the box set of monty pythons films...what to do? :) :)

Peace dude.

Ya' gotta' go with your mood...or just flip a coin, let the universe decide.  ;)

BTW, I don't see any crisis of conscience here.  You did what you felt was right, but circumstances intervened on your behalf and you got (what is probably) a better quality item for the same price.  Appreciate your good fortune!
I don't go to church on Sunday
Don't get on my knees to pray
Don't memorize the books of the Bible
I got my own special way

Al, the crisis is based around the caving in part in the first place.

Then I got fortunate...so hey the Gods decided...

The picture is to coin a phrase from our American Dudes awesome...I watched a game tonight and I could see who the players were..actually see their faces n stuff...whow...

I win...for once...hey who could have known? :)

C dude, a few burgers, a few beers, a night of great flicks including The Big Lebowski on your new wide screen TV; your troubles are over, dude.

C dude - great story. Though I wouldn't see it so much as "caving" as I would a lifestyle enhancement. You deserve it. The better technology gets, there are certain perks that make life all that much more enjoyable IMDO. Seeing people's faces, seeing the hockey puck, seeing the sharp graphics, it's all great, isn't it? Similar to a musician who spends good money on a good instrument, and a great stereo with a set of Bose speakers. Makes sense to me...
