Dudes!

What a fucking nightmare Irene has created for parts of the Eastern seaboard! Here in New England, Vermont was especially hard hit, and the flooding continues today. I and my special gentleman are a-ok, somehow didn't even lose power during the storm. But we were incredibly lucky.

Are all the Dudes ok? Anyone have any stories of how you fared during the storm?

If someone's already started a thread with this purpose, feel free to redirect me and shut this one down. I looked, but couldn't find any...

Not affected in the slightest but thank you for asking.

There are a few Dudes I know who are out there at the moment, luckily no sign of tragedy for them, thank goodness.

The Archdudeship, Dwayne, last I heard was all good, managed to overpower the flood ;D  And GMS seems to be without mains power, but otherwise I guess he's fine.  Yay for facebook updates :)

I think this is the first thread, although I did mention this on Sunday in the Dudarchy in the UK thread, mostly out of shame for the way British holidaymakers get pissed off when their travel plans are disrupted by a major natural disaster that's affecting lives so harshly.

I hope the attitude of those grumpy idiots won't detract from the support most of us are sending across the Atlantic!

I was on vacation in South Glens Falls NY. It was pretty slow here. The only problem we ran into was when me and my special lady tried to drive back home to PA, all our routes were blocked by road closures. So Thanks Irene, for the extra day of vacation!

Thanks a lot for the good vibes, dudes! It's awfully nice to read - there's so much cynicism over here, too, even other people on the East coast. They say the hurricane/tropical storm wasn't big, scary, and destructive enough. Which is obnoxious, because just twenty minutes away from where I live, businesses and homes got drowned and demolished. People are so callous if something didn't affect them directly. (Got to stop reading Gawker!)

I hope Dwayne and GMS's lives are restored fully back to normal right quick!

We got hit by rain mostly...there was a few 53 mph gusts that took trees and power lines down all around us, but other than a few seconds of darkness we kept our power. Just a block down the hill from us were not so lucky. The whole commercial stretch in Walnutport on rt. 145 was without power since yesterday just before noon. That's several fast food joints 2 Chinese Restaurants 2 pizza joint and a Pathmart Supermarket along that stretch. They just got power back about 9 tonight.
What really had me worried was Slate Bowl was out and leagues start tomorrow. I'm hoping Slate Bowl as also got power back.
