These people need to take it easy.

there's some talk about social and economic reasons but the twitter verse and media don't seem to suggest such co-ordinated and reasoned background to the problem.

It just seems that opportunists are using twitter to create flash riot techniques by trying to cause the police to be as thinly spread as possible.

If it continues tonight we could have martial law and the army on the streets of London.

I am sure there are those with good reason and good intention, but likely the anarchists are having a bit of fun, like nihilists, they believe in nossing.

There is a few reports of people already arrested and gone through court, who have come into London especially for the riot.

I am aware that we are only getting the BBC's version of the events so far, time will tell.

I'm waiting for a Brighton group I'm a member of to make a comment.

We here in the states are confused, it seems pointless, no offense, but why all the fire?

Last night the town I was born in was "under siege".  There's a video of a small band of police arriving in riot gear and then being chased off by a wave of rioting youths with improvised weapons:

Tonight my whole home area is boarding itself up and preparing for what might happen.

Saddest thing I heard so far was that a 144 year old family-run furniture shop was burnt down.  Five generations made that business a success for themselves and 15 current employees.  That's more than just history and current economy right there, all gone up in literal smoke
