Here's my point, Dude--there's no reason..there's no fucking reason--why Americans should accept the US invasion of another country when they would not accept same in theirs even under the banner of fighting terrorism.

Just a thought experiment..something to add to the strands in your old head while sipping a beverage

This aggression will stand---apparently----, man...the US is turning into reactionary fascists...sad...what is a dude to do..

Fuckin' A, man.  It's a worrying trend, and something I'm hoping isn't breeding too much over here in the UK.  It's a lack of reasoning tempered by strong emotional/patriotic flares.  A lot of warfare we're both involved in of late seems to be at the cost of innocent civilians, not in their cause.  Compassion for others, yes, vengeance for ourselves, no.

Lao Dude

Off topic but a strand came up in my old head...

Did you guys see the story about the Pakistani who twittered the osama hit? He didnt know what was going on just that helicopters were bothering him

http://mashable.com/2011/05/02/live-tweet-bin-laden-raid/

What is fucking interesting, man is how unstereotypical this guy was. Some of my paraquat cow-workers actually thought most Pakistanis live in tents. This guy is a middle-class, house-dwelling, seemingly successful IT guy Tweeting in much the same way an average Donny would here...and he was basically Osama's neighbor...as long as people think that everyone outside their comfort zone is The Other (or on a different bowling team) rather than a fellow Dude, we'll continue to have unchecked aggression...OK I am wearing out the "unchecked aggression" cliche..mark me zero..

Just another quick question: Why do the press continually spell his name wrong?

This from the FBI's most wanted page http://www.fbi.gov/wanted/topten now surely the Fibbies wouldn't make a mistake would they?

  >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

Because
أسامة بن لادن
is really hard to type?

Yeah, a bit, but it's true, neither "Osama bin Laden" nor "Usama bin Ladin" nor "Beardy McJihadpants" is spelled right.  I saw a thing during the early days of the Libyan revolution there about all the different spellings of Colonel Batshit's name... I think the blowhard the TV had going on about it did basically say, "look, shaddap, it's just different romanizations of a name none of you twits would probably even recognize as written language if you saw it 'spelled right.' So blow it out your collective ass."

If only he had phrased it thus.  That would've been _awesome_

Alas, the only reasonable TV news in the US seems to be on the Comedy Channel.   That, and Al Jazeera.  I weep for the future.

Caesar dude

I think it's like the various spellings of Mohamed (PBUH for the Muslim dudes!) so not wrong as such but why do the press not take up the "official" spelling of the FBI?

It's just a question and I don't really give a crap....but your thoughts would be interesting?

Cheers dude.  8)

Former Afghan intelligence chief says he knew bin Laden was hiding in Pakistan
The Associated Press May 15, 2011 19:46:52 PM

WASHINGTON - Afghanistan's former intelligence chief says he knew Osama bin Laden was hiding in Pakistan four years ago, but Pakistan's leaders rejected his claims.

In an interview broadcast Sunday on CBS' "60 Minutes," Amrullah Saleh says Afghan intelligence thought bin Laden was in the Pakistani city of Mansehra ? about 12 miles (19 kilometres) away from Abbottabad, where the terrorist leader was eventually found and killed by U.S. Navy SEALs.

Saleh has become a prominent critic of Afghan President Hamid Karzai's efforts to start peace talks with the Taliban. He says Pakistan should be recognized by the United States as "a hostile country."

He told CBS: "They take your money. They do not co-operate. They created the Taliban. They are number one in nuclear proliferation."

Just remember to say hi to "them", every once in a while.

Hey gang, keep hunting those terrorists, later.

See, now they know we know that they know that we know they are watching us, but no big dealz.

Yeah--they thought the mother wasn't taking them seriously because when the call was made, her first response was, "You've got to be joking." That'll hold up in court (sarcasm font here).
