are we dudes good people in general, or do we take any and all pleasures that fall into our laps? eh HEM.
there is only one sort of person who makes me weak in the knees and i just met him, happens every 5 years or so.
i'm a good person, ABIDING, right? doing the right thing, making mistakes but honest ones? we're honest, arent we, we dudeists?

i think this is true and will help me abide. back in the day when i was a buddhist i thoguth that until i was hosting 8 tibetan moknks at my house and saw how much meat and liquor those dudes consumed, i gave up my abstinance later that week, rather befuddled, addled yet happy.

oh dudes, we DO abide, dont we? there ARE RULES, this ISN'T 'Nam!

In my opinion. The [whole] purpose of life is to live it.
But in doing so...Please...try and do no harm, or at least attempt to do the least amount of harm you can.
It's a Karma thing.
We reap what we sow.

Cause harm and you are adding more harm into a world where there is already way too much. Add comfort, add joy, add happiness and you project them to ripple through the world.
But if you cannot bring comfort, joy and happiness...please...at least try and do no harm.

Sorry dude, but it's up to you to figure out whether what you are contemplating will cause harm or not. Sometimes we just do not know.

And like the great Elmer Fudd once said, "We are not rational creatures, we are rationalizing creatures."
We rationalized Everything to justify our own desires.

And of course...objects may be larger than they appear, results may vary, and always close cover before striking.

I agree (in most parts) with cc.

You make your rules, you make your decisions, you take the consequences of your actions.

It is your choice to act or not, even not acting is an action.

All actions are like pebbles thrown into the mirror calm pool.

I've done the cheating thing before...then was cheated on in by next serious partner.... just brings a world of hurt and pain. I only ask for two things in a relationship now ...honesty and fidelity which go together hand in hand anyhow.

If you find another who has more of the attributes that you are seeking for in your current partner..then at least be honest and tell your partner. he may even be open to the idea of freedom and "open relationship" .... tends to work more in a females favour anyway.

Just abide dude and do what you think and feel is right.

That's just my opinion of course...

yeah, id like to think this dude is beyond all that too, i surely dont savor the idea of drama, thats fer darn sure.
