Deadwood.
Man that was IMHO the best thing television has ever had.
Bought the box set and we've watched through all 3 seasons several times and man it is some great stuff.
You will burn weekends watching it.
Great characters. You really get caught up in it.

Yep definately worth watching.

DigitalBuddha

A worthy fucking Western, man.

cakebelly

Kept meaning to check it out - never got round to it, maybe one day.

I really liked this when it came to UK tv.

A friend of mine used to greet me with a quote from the show "F*cking Pagans".

Gotta say, Timothy Olyphant really shines and paved the way for Justified.  Probably the coolest new show out i've seen myself.
You're damned if you dude, you're damned if you don't.

My favorite is Ian Mcshane as Al "Cocksucker" Swearengen. Can't wait to see him play Black Beard in the new Pirates.
One who is a Dude must before all things keep constantly in mind...the fact that he has to take it easy.

I think Ian McShane just really had to exorcise Lovejoy. Boy did he do a good job of that.

I managed to catch one Episode, some time ago, and loved it.  Ian McShane was great, and I think I recall Jeffery Jones in there somewhere (always good).  Never managed to catch another episode, but wanting to pick up the boxsets one day.  Hmm, might do that and take them into work for my nightshifts...

Ah, yes, there was a lot of wirewool used on his CV to get rid of that :)
Who would have thought he'd turn out to be one of our leading actors!  I guess it's too late for John Nettles to burst out into the international scene and leave Bergerac behind (especially with him heading up the 'last bastion of englishness' nowadays :))

I second that. Although the last few episodes in season 2 have had me a bit worried.
His ex wife has taken a much bigger role and there is less of a progressing of tension between him and the
baddies. Season one was great because of the arc of Boyd's character.
This one seems to have a lot less action and a lot more soap opera between he and his ex.
Still at it's worst it's still about the best thing on TV currently.

We in the US were not prejudiced by his Lovejoy stint.
It only played on public TV much much later than when it was on in GB.
Few people watched it at all.

I'll be honest I actually liked Lovejoy.

It just went on a bit too long. TV series don't know when to call it a day.
