This was a tough one for me at first, because we never get to see the Dude watch TV.  But we do know, from certain scenes, that the dude actively seeks sensory experiences through music (Creedence in the car, whale songs while soaking in the tub, and his Walkman while napping on his rug).  The Dude also showed up at his landlord's dance quintet, you know, his cycle.  And he didn't seem quite as underwhelmed by the whole thing as Walter did, so I finally decided that the Dude could, conceivably, get caught up in some good TV shows (though I don't think he would be big on soap operas.)

Now I went for no because we see the Dude doing lots of things as Quaker mentions but not watching TV. It seems to me he has better things to do, like getting stoned and listening to music.

My opinion of course.
