A massive explosion has struck a Japanese nuclear power plant after Friday's devastating earthquake.

A huge pall of smoke was seen coming from the plant at Fukushima and several workers were injured.

Tripnastic

They're starting to come up with out of the box ideas for this now.  They've been talking about filling the reactors with sea water to try to contain it.

From what is Dudeism trying to liberate us?Thinking that's too uptight.

To what state of being is Dudeism trying to bring us? Just taking it easy, man.

By what means does Dudeism attempt do this? Abiding.

Outer Element

They've been doing the seawater thing, and another plant's cooling system failed, making three in all with cooling system malfunctions. Real serious shit, man.

One thing is for sure, they can't say "nothing is fucked here, dudes."

The BBC's Chris Hogg in Tokyo says a meltdown at reactor 3 would be potentially more serious than at the other reactors, because it is fuelled by plutonium and uranium, unlike the other units which carry only uranium.

I really have no way to express the sadness I feel over this, but felt I should at least say I couldn't adequately express what I felt.

Anyone ever serve with or no of people who served with the peace corps?
You're damned if you dude, you're damned if you don't.

Outer Element

A couple people I know have relatives over there and are very worried. Their relatives are alive, but a couple of them are in areas where radiation has been leaked. The mother is keeping her daughter inside because of it.

The God damned plane has crashed into the mountain. Yeah, agree with M5; can't find words to express how sad this is, man. This is absolutely fucked up! Mark it zero!

No doubt that when the explosion happen some dudes working there bought the farm. The BBC reports.......

"The explosion blew apart the building housing reactor No. 1, where technicians had been venting steam. Reactor No. 3 is now the subject of concern and a state of emergency has been declared."

The word "meltdown" goes to the heart of the big nuclear question - is nuclear power safe?

The term is associated in the public mind with the two most notorious accidents in recent memory - Three Mile Island, in the US, in 1979, and Chernobyl, in Ukraine, seven years later.

Very harsh. But very well presented (slide the bar left and right to make the direct comparison).

That about sums up the damage and destruction visually. Jesus, what a mess! Very sad, man.

Awesome find, M5. Thanks for posting.
