Take a lookee listen: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xJdxJ5llh5A

I'd like us to do something similar - easy enough to get a backing track - we should have enough haiku/dudeku what-have-you on the Dudeku pages. Every Dude record one and put in on an audio file. Maybe we can make a video for the Arch Dude of York to play at Dudestock - Dude vid for Dudes (DL's idea). Come on Dudes - it's for charity, mang.

Just spent my lunch listening to Kerouac, just following links off the original you posted Cake, nice work, count yourself a young achiever.

Thanks man but I think that would require too strenuous a stretch of the imagination.
I downloaded and edited the Kerouac vid yesterday; I'll put his haikus up on mediafire if anyone wants them.
Would be nice for Dudes with microphones to record a haiku and send me the file; if you are going to do it (from the Dudeku boards or one of your own we haven't seen yet) say which one so there won't be any repeats.

Here are the Kerouac haikus: you may want to rename them (I noted a couple of spelling errors but couldn't be arsed to correct): http://www.mediafire.com/?d4116j8627681. I think it's under 20mb for all of them or they can be d/l individually.

Cake thanks for that (a bit time consuming but worth every minute).

I have an old creative Zen that I use as a forcefield against the reality of commuting. On it I have a lot of my music but also bits of Monty Python, and Ivor Cutler, and some very random bits of other voice material (including an old pod cast by myself). So when I play the thing in random play mode I get all the music interspersed with bits of spoken word material. It pleases my surrealist tenancies that way.

So what Im trying to say is Kerouac is a pleasing addition to the mix. Thanks again cake.

That's cool, Dude - happy about that. Python's "Argument Clinic" sketch usually finds its way onto whatever device I have favoured over the years. Unfortunately I was gifted a Zune a couple of years ago - oh man, what a piece of crap; doesn't hold a charge, no longer synchs with anything so I can't add or remove tracks.

Anyway, I have Dharma Bums, On The Road (abridged), Readings by Kerouac, and several other bits and pieces that I may put up in time (it'll take a lot of time - Dharma Bums is unabridged). I''ll message you if and when I put something up I think you may be interested in. Was going to upload some Alan Ginsberg today - but we'll see how we go.

Yeah, you can't underestimate the value of your own personal force-field, Dude - roll on.  8)

ps. I used to have a lot of Cutler  - will have a look to see if I managed to bring it over with me; would like to do something with the Dude's work.
