I have to say "The World According to Garp" completely lost me, I read it but really didn't think it was that good (IMHO of course). so didn't see the film.

I will admit to liking RW in "The Birdcage" (though the original french "La cage aux folles" is supposed to be better).

S'funny, Dude - I started the book but couldn't get on with it (guess I wasn't ready to absorb it at the time) but saw the movie and was very pleasantly surprised. Have seen both versions of La Cage - couldn't say which is best; there's less high pitched screaming in the RW version which is always a plus, for me.

TWAG, my mom read the book, and when the movie came out she took us all to see it. I loved the movie, saw it dozens of times(back in the days of VHS and no cable).

TWATG: Just got me the book and the DVD. Looking forward to fill that gap in knowledge and experience. 

...and after the first 170 pages (it's a paperback edition with some 600 pages) I can say: I love it, it's a great story.

Thanks Meekon.  Someone already moved it.  It's in the right spot.  Could you change mine to a pin too though?

It was me, I confess. I somehow have the power to move and edit the pins. 

I'm missing something. How do I place a pin? I see everyone, but not pins I can place.

When you open the map, above where it says dudemap on the left side, there should be an edit button.  When you click that, you'll see what looks like a blue balloon open on the map. Click that and put the balloon on your location. When  you click your location, a box will open that you can type a name and some dudely wisdom in. In that same box you'll see the blue balloon again, click that  if you want to change it to a pin.

@Tripnastic - ah-ha. gracias. I needed to log in and do some map mojo. Got the pin.

...and after some 400 pages... mmh, a very dense story, well and a story about storytelling - as if it was a book about writing this book - and others...
mmh, don't know really what to think.

also, it is a bit too drastic - or should I say "graphic" -  here and there for my taste, to be honest. But then again, I suppose in 1976 it was a different context altogether.

I remember getting bored with it and putting it down somewhere.
All I remember from the movie is the olympic wrestling.
My favourite RW movie is What Dreams May Come.
Due to a technical clusterfuck My computer timed out.
