I was gonna see if anyone knew how I could get some retro style bowling shirts with the name "El Duderino's" on it. I kind wanna do a pep-boys/3 stooges style with Walter, The Dude, & Donnie on it, behind some pins.

I'm not really an artist, so if anyone knows a artist that would be cool too.

All the leagues don't really fit my style, and I was gonna form one myself. I'm an avid bowler, as I'm sure are many of you.

Perhaps it could become a nationwide deal, if anyone else is interested. I know some leagues have teams that run in packs and all that. I wouldn't mind or anything, but I really just want 3 shirts basically.

I woulda snatched one of the dudestore symbols but they didn't have any bowling shirts. bummer. Any takers?

Dude, Dude, Dude - you don't need to know an artist (although that would be a boon); you don't even need to be an artist. Just download http://www.gimp.org/ - small learning curve (plenty of tutorials online) and you're away. Lots of retro shirts online, too (google).

With just a little practice you can knock out stuff much, much better than this.

Edit:
Taken the last image down because it was crap. If I had of taken more time with therm I guess I would have arched the "El Duderino" legend and angled the heads a little (this is possible with layer work but time-consuming; tried a new movable brush script but it worked only once. Have to wait a year or two I guess before someone writes a code that moves the brushes).

I put some shades on the Dude in this one:

WOW! thats what i'm talking about!   Right on man!  Now how do I get them into real t-shirts and who do I have to pay?  Those are GREAT. I'm gonna try this "gimp.org" , but you hit the jack pot spot on.  The robins egg blue is just like my old bowling shirt, so i immediately bonded with the style.

Dude....You got the goods!   If there were some sort of brownie point system in effect, I'd say you earned yourself at least 100 points.

Dude, those T's are an urban achievement. Far fucking out, man.

The Lennon - Thanks, glad to see you're writing again (and to hear that you are doing well).  8)

DB Thanks mang  ;D

Koog-meister  - Glad you like 'em; done partly for the buzz of giving someone a buzz but largely to illustrate how easy it is to create your own stuff, Dude. I am not sure that it is a good idea to use any of the designs for an actual shirt because I didn't take enough care with them. Once enlarged (by the shirt-printing wallahs or whoever) they may look rather messy (any blemishes and clumsy erasing will show up). I guess that the only people you will have to pay are the bowling shirt people and the post office. All the images have been put through a cartoon filter.

Google "custom bowling shirts" and you will get quite a few hits although the first three or four only deal with their own clip-art and one or two colours. Scout around and send a few emails. Try your own designs for double the buzz. It is just a question of finding the images you want (google images), erasing what you don't want and copying 'n' pasting. Happy gimping.  ;D

Well the gimp doesnt work on my windows computer. Vista doesn't like it.  The version 2.6 I have freezes up, but it could just be me. I'm not a computer wizard. Still, I think I'll take your basic concept and try to tell a pro thats what i want.

I can't wait to hit the boards with the real thing!

 :( Bummer man.

Come to think of it I had problems with Gimp when I was running Vista - sorry man, should have hailed out a warning. I have since upgraded to W7, though and it works fine. You may find an earlier version of Gimp that works okay on Vista - scout around, you don't have to have the latest version especially for what you want to do.

Speaking of which, just choose one of the designs and print it out (or email it) as a query to a custom clothing store (probably online) and see what they say. Any imperfections can easily be dealt with (I imagine) on their computers. Drop a hint that you may be starting a league that could go world wide (Dude League) and I am sure they'll pull their fingers out. Any other Dudes reading this might want to buzz-up a custom clothing store and give you a recommendation.

Anyway, it's okay with me if you want to use them as is or edit them - post up some pics when and if you get it done. Maybe I'll try and get better results, myself, in a week or two.

Hey, that's an idea any Dudes (artists or Gimpers) want to put up some bowling shirt designs on this thread go ahead. It'll be fun.  8)
