So we all know that Duder, (His Dudeness...Or El Duderino, if, you know, you're not into the whole brevity thing) partook of the sacred herb and lit up a J once in a while. But was wondering what Walter thought about it? I am assuming that Walter knew that the dude indulged in some shit, but what, given Walter's very conservative outlook on life, would he had felt about it?

The Dude would not bother to hide his consumption from anyone who was not a law enforcement officer, much less his closest friend thus it is safe to conclude that Walter is fully aware of The Dude's pharmacological hobby.

Yeah for sure, Walter knew that dude smoked the sacred J, he might have just over looked it and treated his best buddies' toke like he did his Nam buddies that died face down in the muck that toked; disapproved but tolerate. I wonder if Walter ever took a hit once in a while?

I suspect that, in fact, Walter did once partake but on his conversion to the faith of his one time special lady friend (and current Ex) he stopped partaking.    I submit that Walter is as wound up as he is because he has stopped enjoying the occasional toke.

We all know the Dude doesn't try to cover up his tracks.  Remember when the cops came to his bungalow concerning the Dude's missing car?

Separate incidents?

Maybe... really, though its not that unusual for people to enjoy a little smoke now and then.  Probably hasn't been for about 35-40 years or so.  I don't personally though I do enjoy a Caucasian or an oat soda.  I just don't like smoking.  Its cool, I don't get bent about it, and I figure walter is of the same mind.  Pretty harmless stuff.
At least I'm housebroken.

Dude, you might just have Walter pegged. I think he is much more of a "beer and cheap wine" kind of dude. Shit man, he probably borrowed most of his porn collection from some of his Nam buddies and duped the tapes back in the VHS days.

Yeah, I bet he has an entire shelf in the fridge dedicated to beer.  Probably buys it by the case.

Walter just kinda reminds me of a couple of guys I know up here.  Lots of Vietnam vets settled here in the Northwest.  Wound a little tight.

Walter quotes Lenin 3 decades after he fought his disciples.  He's more of a renissance man than the stereotype suggests.  He even gets mad about fat cats fucking over the dude.  He's a paleocon.
