The teachings of a Hindu god Krishna, an incarnation of Vishnu. As it was said here before, some parts of Bhagavad Gita are as brutal as the Old Testament. So I would not call it a standard Dudeist book. I would call it one of those old books that may piss you off but offer some food for thought. If possible, try to find an edtion that is annotated as little as possible. The heavily annotated ones may sometimes resemble a bit of brainwashing, at least to the European taste.

What Bhagavad Gita gave me was the sense that the world is old, very old, some things happen because there is time for them, and many generations will live after we go away, so our simple tragedies are specks of dust. Take it easy, man, 5 371 000 people broke their leg before.

Something like the Asatru people telling you that 'you are the product of a thousand loves, your body and life are borrowed and to be given back'.
