Please add pearls dudes

Dude,

Thought I'd write a small piece on the pearls I have found through my ages of wisdom.
Every 10 years an age of wisdom is achieved, the dudes beard grows longer.
I wouldn't say I'm the dude, I'd say, I'm the Dude, Sobchak, and Donny in a bowling alley looking into a white Russian.
I'm going with the flow and not telling or suggesting I'm right, its a philosophy of the present in my mind, like an ancient Greek dude in a toga, just talking out his idea, Diogenes is shaking his head, but since I've started, I'll carry on.
You can take some wisdom pearls from the necklace if they suit your path. I thought it would be cool if when someone learned a certain idea they agreed with, they took a small bead and painted on the symbol and over time they could reflect on their different colourful beads taken from all philosophies that make their own. Even if the whole can of the idea would contradict others, you just need to take a pearl dude. You could end up with a cosmic dude bead, like some prayer beads but super colourful and no necessity to be praying about stuff.
First of all, I don't eat the whole can dude, I don't put labels on, I'm not wearing a dogma, I take my own chapters. Like the old stone henge druid dude once said, 'find your own path, I cant just give you one'. And from their the first pearl starts, no one can tell you what you believe, it flows from you, like water in a river it flows on its own path and makes its own patterns. So I found that fundamentalism, rigid painfully held beliefs, or trying to force down the whole can of a religion or super long philosophy to be a Big Lebowski bummer.
Onto the next pearI, trees, Hindu's, Buddhist's, Christians, Heathens, The Green Man, they all dig trees as one of the big teachers. The tree is the connector of all things in  a physical image, it reaches into the underground and reaches up into the sky. On every branch are the species and the generations spreading out overtime. Sit under a tree in the woods and feel connected man. We are all made up of cells and we share with the tree, our cycle of life, breathing, generating energy, growing, respiration, death. We are another form of cells doing the same thing, as we are all part of nature, a wise man once sat under a tree, it tipped him off and he realised our intrinsic connection.
This pearl says we are all a mass conglomerate, a nation of cells, creating a physical moving form of energy while at the same time we are moving through an energy called nature. We are swirling through made and potential in a cycle, the energy doesn't die, it changes its form. You can't change it, you'll get reactionary if you do, you cant move the clock back or forward, you have the moment, then its gone, its a memory and that memory itself is merely the imagination of the mind replaying what no longer exists. The dude lives in the moment.
The next pearl is taken from a Navajo story I read in a book, I stuck my own interpretation on it. A persons inner person, is made of two wolves. One has its teeth drawn, it takes offence and wishes to give offence back, its on the attack, it feeds on negativity and snarls at open hands. The other wolf is observing, patient, deciding carefully, it looks for solutions, and welcomes. Our racing thoughts are made of the two wolves. So the kid in the story asks the wise man, 'which wolf am I?' the man smiles and gives the answer 'well that depends on which wolf you feed'. And that is a super pearl of wisdom dude.
Moving pearls, the shaman says we have an inner and outer mind, our outer mind navigates our senses, it makes our daily calculations, its loud and fast, its on turbo. We see the outer mind as our reality, the shamans see it as the dream of life. Its our mind taking in everything in the present and putting onto our display screen, our perception of everything. And although you need this to survive, there is another mind, slower, quiet, and like the tree. The inner mind, if you can get to a space of perfect stillness and perception you may even get to hear it, and if you hear it, dude you are close to knowing your inner self. I'm not sure how to get there but meditation in nature seems a good start man.
The next pearl is still being developed its in the Dude De Ching that I'm still reading at my pace, Dude's I can tell you its going to be awesome. I'm also in talks with Zeno, Ralph Waldo Emerson, and Epictetus, I'm predicting more peals man.

Take er easy

Excellent words!
I actually think that being all those things and more is being the dude.
I've come to see him as a vessel.
A conduit for a portion of everything around him.
The key to being un-dude is IMO drinking any one particular flavor of metephorical cool aid.
Currently there is a very un-dude narrative that is ravaging our beach communities that reliably hides it's evil behind a false veil of compassion.
We are more than familiar with them in several stripes whether it is the screaming inbeciles on college campuses or the black masked cowards taking to the streets.
In my opinion it would be the Dude's modesty or lack of certainty that would deliver him from buying into this BS.
He might have occupied various administrative building but to him Nancy was cool.

Nietzsche wrote about these ass clowns long before the current crop appeared....

QuoteThus I speak to you in a parable-you who make souls whirl, you preachers of equality. To me you are tarantulas, and secretly vengeful. But I shall bring your secrets to light; therefore I laugh in your faces with my laughter of the heights. Therefore I tear at your webs, that your rage may lure you out of your lie-holes and your revenge may leap out from behind your word justice. For that man be delivered from revenge, that is for me the bridge to the highest hope, and a rainbow after long storms.

The tarantulas, of course, would have it otherwise. "What justice means to us is precisely that the world be filled with the storms of our revenge"-thus they speak to each other. "We shall wreak vengeance and abuse on all whose equals we are not"-thus do the tarantula-hearts vow. "And 'will to equality' shall henceforth be the name for virtue; and against all that has power we want to raise our clamor!"

You preachers of equality, the tyrannical mania of impotence clamors thus out of you for equality: your most secret ambitions to be tyrants thus shroud themselves in words of virtue. Aggrieved conceit, repressed envy-perhaps the conceit and envy of your fathers-erupt from you as a flame and as the frenzy of revenge.

But personally I'm not down with the "conduit of cells" stuff.
Once you get all eastern I'm out.
But the conceptual amalgam of personalities/ideas/beliefs is wicked cool.
The Navajo story is great. Flintstones Freudian is very great.

Thanks dude!

This is the only forum on the Internet where people do not routinely attack each other, fucking A!

I agree with your point, if you can only get people to agree with you by outward violence, insult, peer pressure, fear regime, manipulation, leverage, harassment or even passive aggression its not a good idea in the first place. I dislike control groups. The modern adult tantrums over spilt milk are the most embarrassing spectacles to behold in this ever evolving Self agrandising and self regard in place of honour, balance, and humble abiding.

It's sad that so many have to give themselves labels, and with those labels they have to follow an assigned dogma, and even prove rigid identity to the label through making group spectacles of themselves. The tao swirls in circles, looking for black and white in a swirling sea of changing greys is fools gold. You end up believing in nothing or hitting people for verging off that narrow path.

I want the ancient toga philosophers to come back. They debated with opposite opinions with respect. Screaming violence with a symbol sucks.

The present effects the past not the other way round.

No one is more dangerously insane than one who is sane all the time: he is like a steel bridge without flexibility, and the order of his life is rigid and brittle.

Muddy water is best cleared by leaving it alone.

You are an aperture through which the universe is looking at and exploring itself.

Problems that remain persistently insoluble should always be suspected as questions asked in the wrong way.

We imagine ourselves to be results of the past, we are always passing the buck over our shoulders, we don't realise the past is caused by the present. The truth of the matter, it all begins here. You are all God in disguise, Jesus found that out and they crucified him.

Alan Watts
