Thought I'd drop in and share...

We've got double dudes, identical twin boys. They're 9 (going on 15?  :o) It's a great age, no more diapers, not teens yet. It's cool to watch them straddle the little kid-tween line. It's also hard to see them struggle with new social challenges and trying to place themselves into a role that will allow them to avoid being an outcast. I'm also aware they they are becoming very aware of world events, and our reactions to them. The parroting is real! We're trying to balance protecting them from the world, and preparing them for the world.

We're letting them watch movies with some swearing as long at they don't repeat it - yet. LOL! They're not ready for The Big Lebowski, but we did let them watch Ferris Bueller's Day Off. They have questions along the way (like, is Cameron really sick?), and I'd rather watch with them to answer, rather than their friends. (And some of their friends believe some crazy shit.)

So, dudes, what other movies straddle the kiddie/teen line that you've loved and think we should share?

Here's a little list I thought of man, good luck with the kids!
- What About Bob (believe it has minor swearing in one scene)
- Groundhog Day
- Mrs. Doubtfire
- Back to the Future
- School of Rock
- Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure
- The Mask
- The Big Lebowski (no, no not really, but I have to include it in any list of recommendations)

Short of all out porn or extreme violence let the watch whatever they want.
They are gonna anyway unless you watch over their shoulder all day.
And it's better if they watch it with you so you can explain stuff.
Or at least ask about it later without feeling guilty.

Out here we are all his children

Man, that's not a bad list. I'd maybe add some stuff like Stand by Me, Willie Wonka (the original), Teen-Wold, and The Goonies,  In a couple years, how about Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Revenge of the Nerds, and The Breakfast Club?

I was thinking of adding a few of those, Revenge of the Nerds was great, and I loved the Breakfast club, thought it might be a bit too mature though, both are rated R, and Revenge of the Nerds has nudity in it.
Still both great movies though man!
Edit: Oops, just read the part about "In a couple years", that's what I get for posting something the minute I wake up!
