So last month we got notice that our call center is closing completely. Apparently we couldn't make up the volume we lost when one of our biggest clients left in October. In December, I'd been picked up by a new client and was loving it. To top it all off, since the last time we nearly lost our jobs, I've been diagnosed with anxiety (quite possibly may have depression) and now I'm taking medication and going to therapy. Not to mention my grandfather, who helped raise me and is as close to me as a father, is in a nursing home until he takes his leave and I haven't been able to see him since Thanksgiving.

I need some relief, and I've been turning to Dudeism now more than ever to try to chill out and focus on the next steps.

Man, that's a real bummer :/

Strikes and gutters, sometimes you eat the bar and sometimes the bar eats....uh....lost my train of thought there.

Just remember things like this ebb and flow, the tide will rise again and you can catch the next riptide. Best of luck to you man!

Thank you, man. Actually, I called in sick on Friday and because my workplace has an attendance point system and I went over, I'll probably be canned this week. I just couldn't take it anymore. There's too much stress and it's been a roller-coaster since last October when we got the first layoff notice. I'll roll the dice and take my chances with unemployment until I can find something new. I have a few irons in the fire, but nothing solid just yet.

I find that meditating on the word: Abide can sometimes help. That all we can do when we roll a gutterball is to abide ie. accept the situation as it is. Just say fuck it and take it easy. In reality that's not always so easy to do but it's an attitude rather than some form of nirvana or something.

But hang in there iAbide and know that the bowling ball will roll back to you so you can take another shot and hopefully make a strike.  8)
