Very cool to see the beer adventures of fellow Dudes! I'm lucky that the local brew scene in Iowa is pretty damn good, ever since Iowa City has branded itself a hipster destination the breweries have sprung up all over the place.

I spent yesterday stewarding in a fairly sizable local homebrew competition along with several other members of my Homebrew club. It was very intersting and informative, along with getting to try some pretty tasty brews. (And a couple of pretty bad ones.)

Living in West Michigan is a beer lovers paradise. I have two breweries within a mile of my house, another 5 within 15 miles, and another 30 within an hour.

It's getting like that up here in Canada.  In the  Ottawa area alone, there's over 30 breweries!  And our home brewing club membership is over 600.

Where I live (UK, oop north like) I got about 30 breweries within 30 miles. In the last 2 years three new pubs has opened in town, who are all doing small independent(sometime local) breweries. A few breweries have also started to hold a monthly event with bands, food and cheap beer.

It is a good time to be drinking a bit of ale.
