Like sitting on the edge of a wall

I'm am probably the maddest I've been in a while, waaaay outta my element. I got a ton of CD's from my brother, since he is making room for his second daughter (due in October). I was messing with the CD player and what I already had in it; Pink Floyd The Wall discs one and two, Pink Floyd Wish You Were Here and Metallica. Well, I go to shut the disc changer and it makes a noise. So I open it and take inventory. I have Pink Floyd The Wall disc one, Pink Floyd WYWH and Metallica. But no The Wall disc two. Ok, so I start getting worried. I take a screwdriver and go to town on the back of it, unscrewing it and prying it apart. Finally I get to the center of it, and there is my CD. The one CD I love more than most things in life. Its like digging for treasure. Sweet, sweet, Roger Waters and David Gilmour treasure. I pull it out; The edge of the disc are chipped all to shit. I have never been this mad in my life. I ended up kicking the top of the CD player out the front door. Im being very un-dude in, what appears to me, to be a good reason.

I think im getting a different CD player that was my parents tomorrow, but still. Dont fuck with what someone loves, and I love music. Its playing in my Xbox now, so far no problems. Fucking 'eh...

Greetings and salutations, brother. That sucks. No way around it. Sounds like you're moving on, though. That sulfur-spewing, brimstone-smelling, cloven-hoof felching CD player can rot in forgotten electronic hell right alongside the goddamn Tandy 1000 that ate my King's Quest circa 1985.

Just remember, man, they can take your plastic - they can't take your tunes.

Yea, that's true, dude. I played through the whole disc and it didn't skip once! So, that fantastic for me. Plus, I got a new stereo with Bluetooth, so no annoying cords for my iPod. Everything worked out in the end, I reckon.

I'm fascinated that your brother had enough CDs that when he gave them away he could fit a whole new person in his home. Mp3s, wave of the future.
The dad abides.
