Sad to say, but it was inevitable...

I posted this in another group a while ago;

If muslims don't watch it, they may be soon facing Islamocide in many parts of the world. The world is not going to tolerate their threats, demands and mindless violence much longer. Vigilantes are bound to react violently.

World Bulletin / News Desk

A family of three young Muslims have been shot dead in their home in a quiet neighbourhood of North Carolina in the US, in an apparent hate crime. Police have named the victims as 23-year-old Deah Shaddy Barakat, 23, his wife Yusor Mohammad, 21, and her sister, Razan Mohammad Abu-Salha, 19.

It is believed that all three were from Syria.

Well, dude, we just don't know. This article suggests it was motivated by a long-standing parking dispute.

That said, and who-the-fuck-knows what really happened, the very concept of a hate-crime Walters me up. It is the act which IS or IS NOT wrong. The analysis is independent of the person towards/against whom the action is directed. The act is no more or less sanctionable because I am white and you are brown; you believe in Vishnu and I believe in Baal; or you like pasta and I'm gluten-free. It is a testament to the fuckedupedness of our society that this even needs mentioning.

Do you believe that? If they call it a "hate crime" or "terrorism" there is a stronger likelihood of retaliation for it. So, let's claim it was over a parking space just to be safe.

That's just like my opinion, man.

I think in our politically correct environment if there is a rush to judgement it would be to TRY to classify it as a hate crime not the other way.
Personally if asked what caused it, I'd have to say "a lot of stuff" given the narrative about the shooter. But there is a record of him confronting the victims about parking in the past. I'm sure his frustrations were amplified by his attitude toward Muslims.

Hicks complained about once a month that the two men were parking in a visitor's space as well as their assigned spot.

"He would come over to the door. Knock on the door and then have a gun on his hip saying 'you guys need to not park here,'" said Ahmad, a graduate student in chemistry at UNC-Chapel Hill. "He did it again after they got married."

Both Hicks and his neighbors complained to the property managers, who apparently didn't intervene. "They told us to call the police if the guy came and harassed us again," Ahmad said.

"This man was frustrated day in and day out about not being able to park where he wanted to," said Karen Hicks' attorney, Robert Maitland.
Actually I hate to mention it but years ago when I was still single and renting apartments I lived in 2 different apartment complex's where the same exact problem occurred. (The parking. Not the killing) We had families move in from overseas and soon there were way more people there than just the family who rented it. And they were taking up a lot of parking spaces and clearly they had brought over extended family and they were all living in one apartment.
This happened 2 separate times and the manager had to intervene in both cases. Both were very high end apartment complex's and the behavior was way over the line. I think at the root of it is a clash of cultures. People who are used to having a lot of people living in a very small space. They don't understand that culturally this is not acceptable.
The worst thing about it was that a lot of the older men who lived there spoke no English at all and did not work. They just milled around ALL DAY EVERY DAY in front of the building smoking and speaking another language. It really was like night and day compared to the place before they moved in.  But I'm sure it was typical where they came from. Needless to say all the other tenants were up in arms and the manager had to intervene. And he had a hell of a time getting them out. Luckily it never came to murder. But I think I may remember a few people mentioning something along those lines in a heated moment.
But clearly this guy was deeply disturbed.

Sometimes I shake my head as I think "has the whole world gone crazy?" And then I think "life goes on, man, I'm gettin' a lane."

Judd Dude

I think the moral of the story is don't live in a place where parking is a commodity...

Jokes aside hate crimes are fucking over the line. I find it a bit ironic that the shooters last name is "Hicks", because that's just what he is- an ignorant bumpkin.

I agree with DB though that Muslims need to do something if they want to coexist among others in this country and elsewhere. Why are they not speaking out against the Islamic terrors?? What are they doing to change the perception of themselves and their religion?

I'm not seeing anything...

Unfortunately crimes like this will most likely continue as long as crimes in the name of Islam continue. There's a lot of crazies out there who will carry out violence against innocent people based on religion any chance they get.

It's fucked.
"Is this a... what day is this???"

Father Bubba

Yea, I head about this. There are some stupid people here in NC, but hell, there are stupid people everywhere. I rekon they were killed because the people who did it figured "They are killing innocent Americans, lets kill some of their people." I don't know, but its like Gandhi said; "An eye for an eye only ends up making the whole world blind."

Masked Dude

I'm with Bubba. This is local news for me. It's part of the Triangle, and we're having all kinds of shit over this. With it being part of the university scene (UNC, NCSU, Duke) you would think we'd have better news than this.
