Finally, a post-financial melt-down TV show that knows to poke fun at itself. The delightfully named Schitt?s Creek will reteam Eugene Levy and Catherine O?Hara together as a a rich couple who lose their fortune and are forced to rebuild their lives in their only remaining asset: the no-horse town of Schitt?s Creek, which they had bought as a joke.

So the opposite of The Beverly Hillbillies then, but with a golden comedy cast. What?s not to love?

The Selling Point: The central pairing of Levy and O?Hara were the best part of Best In Show and the chance to see them reunited in a similarly irreverent setting is irresistible.

The Concerns: Hopefully the town name is going to be where the gimmick ends. You?d like to think it would, but Eugene Levy has appeared in all eight American Pie movies, so he?s clearly not against pushing something too far.

Ash Vs Evil Dead

How could you not be utterly sold on the idea of The Evil Dead coming back as it was always intended, and in a long format that will allow for even more character development and more complex plots. Okay, so maybe character development will be a bit alien in the grand history of the franchise, but more screentime means more Ash and more of some of the best zombies ever committed to screen.

Rather ingeniously, it?s already been revealed what the show will focus on by Bruce Campbell himself: ?Ash has survivor?s guilt. You could have a heyday with his PTSD. He?s a war vet. He continues being a trash-talking know-it-all who doesn?t really know anything. He?s the ultimate anti-hero. He?s kind of an idiot, but man, if I had to go to battle, I?d want to be next to that guy, because he?ll bring it if he has to.?

How could you not love that? The idea of an irreverent zombie flick with Raimi and Campbell reunited is just about the best news genre fans could have heard for a long old time.

The Selling Point: Sam Raimi returning to his roots is about as big a deal as there is in TV this year.

The Concerns: The rule of diminishing returns/ the cross-over issue/ nostalgia being a better idea than it ever is in execution? The choices are sadly many, but the pay-off could be brilliant.
