I don't care if it's off the topic of Dudeism and nothing to do with what the vast majority of this forum is about, But I can not tell you how stoked I am to see this news:

'Blade Runner' sequel best script Harrison Ford has 'ever read': Ridley Scott

Ridley Scott Says 'Blade Runner' Sequel Is The Best Script Harrison Ford Has Ever Read

;D

(Ford hated the original, mostly because he had to stand around in the cold and the rain for most of the filming)

Great!
I loved the original.
Looks like Ford is going to go back and do sequels for everything stating with the first star wars.

Out here we are all his children

Ya, it was the movie that started the whole dark goth genre in sci-fi.  I heard there was lots of conflict and in-fighting behind the scenes too, so maybe it just wasn't the weather Harrison Ford was referring to.

Man, Blade Runner worked on so many different levels: science fiction, mythology, symbolism, film noir, humanity, distopia/utopia, action movie, and so much other stuff. I would love to see the sequel done really, really, well. That's why this quote from the link scares the shit out of me:

"Scott is debating whether or not he'll direct the sequel..."

Still, yeah, I wanna see it made.

Fuckin' eh dude!

I remember hearing rumours of an Alien VS Predator script floating around Hollywood back in the mid nineties, and it took almost 10 years for it to come to fruition; I hope this will be worth the wait as well.

I hope it's not going to take that long; Scott and Ford aren't getting any younger.

I'm holding off getting too excited as of yet.

But will admit I pre-ordered the final cut DVD's by about six months (but we had been waiting almost 25 years for a good copy of the film to be released).

Also I think I am one of the few people that really liked the version that Ridley Scott doesn't the one the finance company released.

I think Ford was in his forties when he made the movie, because some of the repair work they did for the final cut involved his son (who was then the age his dad was when he made the movie) doing some of the talking in the snake seller scene so they could super impose his (the sons) mouth over Fords so the lips actually synced with the soundtrack finally.

(Yes I did watch all the hours and hours of extras).
