It's like this new absurd move to confabulate Fascism and Liberalism.

Obama said his would be the "most transparent" administration in history. That's proved true; we just thought he was using "transparent" to mean "open and frank" not "easily seen through." I started trying to keep track. I really did. But the library of congress couldn't keep up with the administration's lies, inconsistencies, and machinations. I only got this far:

Agriculture Dept. pays billions of dollars to thousands of minorities allegedly denied the right to be farmers based on discrimination that happened to someone else, somewhere else, at some other time. Prior to Holder, the case had been poised for a dismissal. He pulled it.

Former chief-of-staff, Rahm Emanuel, uses Bill Clinton as an intermediary to get a primary candidate to drop out of a race in exchange for political appointment.

Obama campaign website disabled credit card verification systems, allowing anyone from anywhere in the world to donate any amount. That's a no-no under Federal law.

Obama approves assassinations via drone strikes and lauds "kill list".

Supported the wrong guys in the Arab Spring movement...and everywhere else, really.

Tries to make recess appointments when Congress is not on recess. Supreme Court rules it improper, 9-0. When Obama does appoint people, it's these guys:

·   White House Communications Director- Anita Dunn, avowed communist who applauds Chairman Mao as her "favorite philosopher".

·   Secretary of Treasury- Tim Geithner, cheated on his taxes and excused it by saying he relied on Tax Master.
·   Safe School Czar- Kevin Jennings, allegedly promoted "sex-positive" texts for middle-schoolers which referenced "fisting", refused to report statutory rape, and expressed admiration for NAMBLA.


OBAMACARE

How ObamaCare became the "law of the land".

·   "ObamaCare" did not pass the House of Representatives and the Senate proper.
·   After Ted Kennedy died Massachusetts held a special election and voted in Scott Brown knowing he opposed ObamaCare, which would allow a filibuster.
·   Senate could not pass a new bill; House passed a previous bill from the Senate but with changes.
·   Senate passed it under "reconciliation" process, not subject to filibuster. However, reconciliation is only allowed for budget-neutral matters.
·   Obama marketed the individual mandate as a "penalty" not a "tax" and its proponents were claiming it would reduce spending.
·   Supreme Court upheld ObamaCare by characterizing the individual mandate as a "tax" and not as a "penalty".

So, now we have a bill the public was told was not a tax, passed through a process only appropriate for budget-neutral matters, which the Supreme Court said was only legal if it's a tax, and is going to cost us more than $1.8 trillion (at last count) over the next ten years.

The White House unilaterally grants 1,400 Waivers from ObamaCare - a program so good no one wants it.

Congressional staff eventually got stuck with ObamaCare but receive a $7,000 subsidy - why would anyone need a subsidy for an "Affordable" Care Act?

ObamaCare allows for 50% higher premiums for smokers; prohibits increased premiums for those with HIV. Social engineering, whaaaat?

Holder held in contempt by congress. Obviously, neither the DOJ nor D.C. prosecutor take this up...despite legislation mandating them to do so. Wonder why.

Holder drops investigation of the Black Panthers for voter intimidation caught on videotape at a polling place.

Holder sues Boeing for trying to relocate its business to a right-to-work state.

Holder sues Gibson for allegedly importing rare wood for guitars; didn't sue Fender for doing the same thing. Fender was an Obama campaign contributor – Gibson was not.

Holder sues States that tried to enforce State and/or Federal immigration law when the Federal government did not.

I agree DB, something needs to change NOW. We the People are being fucked, day in and day out. It's a classic case of the rich getting richer, and the losers getting a free ride on our middle-class-worker backs.

Back when I didn't have health care but was working at a decent gig, I looked into this so-called affordable care. The skeptic in me had to. Well since where I worked offered health care(at a $300/mo. Premium mind you) the affordable care plans would've cost about $180/month. Here is the kicker- the yearly deductible, wait for it...
6K!!!! So basically short of having open heart surgery or some other costly procedure, I'd have no REAL health care, just would have it "on paper".

I laughed, and said to myself take your plan and shove it up your ass. Go ahead and fine me, it'll still be much cheaper. I think that's what a lot of folks are saying too.
Worst part is the good workin folks who had good affordable health plans now pay exorbitant amounts in premiums and co pays in order to offset the cost of getting cheap care to the bums that don't work. No offense to them, I think they have a right to treatments if needed, but if it's on my fuckin back I have a problem with it.

The hilarity of this, if not the tragedy, is the degree to which the political class has turned the debate into whether healthcare insurance is affordable. Excuse me: the point is whether healthcare, itself, is available. I submit it was available and essentially had been for the last thirty years.

     1.   For the rich, I hope we can all concede they've been able to take care of themselves rather handily.

     2.   For the middle class, they've had insurance available through the market or their employers. And, until government placed down its jackboot a bit too firmly, it wasn't all that unaffordable. To the extent it was not affordable, it was because the middle class has been made to subsidize the third group.

     3.   For the poor and destitute, there was Medicaid and (for the elderly) Medicare. Lesser known is the federal law mandating hospitals and many other medical providers to PROVIDE SERVICE WITHOUT REGARD TO THE PATIENT'S ABILITY TO PAY.

The true point of Obama's changes was never to provide affordable healthcare to everyone. It was to shift the debate to the question of insurance, escalate medical costs through bureaucracy, and consolidate provider networks, thereby breaking the already burdened system and pissing-off everyone sufficiently to accept the Marxist utopia of single-payer.

Because my employer has more than 50 workers on staff they are required to grant insurance to all full-timers. I recently read that the republican party in the house of representatives wants to change the definition of "full-time" to 40 hours per week and I'm already hearing the rumblings about why that would be a good thing. If that changes, by law, my employer could basically drop the health insurance for just about everyone in the place leaving us all to enter the marketplace.

You're not wrong...and, no, you're not an asshole...but you've left out fully 3/4 of the picture. We shouldn't pretend it was the republicans who shattered the healthcare and health insurance systems. No, these reforms were pressed exclusively by the democrats.  They defined-down what "full time" employment meant by mandating coverage, in many cases, for those who work at least 30 hours per week. http://obamacarefacts.com/obamacare-employer-mandate

Businesses react to changes in the law. Did anyone expect them to just ignore it? These are the intended consequences of the law. Everyone knew it. So, yes, we're going to see republicans try to modify the law - only because they can't repeal it with this jackass in office. The sole practical solution is to repeal obamacare and repeal the federal law mandating the provision of healthcare without consideration of the ability to pay. But that would require everyone growing up, bearing their own goddamn costs, and keeping their filthy pilfering hands out of others' pockets. So, yeah, it won't happen.
