So, dudes, was wondering what each of you do (or do not do) that you regard as something that helps define your dudeness and dude-like life style that the square community world wouldn't give a shit about.

For me it's slacking off and drinking beer. And of course; hanging out here in this a here chat board.

Thoughts, dudes? 8)

Attempt number two at replying.. Tapatalk, virtual paraquat!

For me, I try to bring a little dudeliness into every day. I work a "high pressure" type job and am often on call 24/7 so I have to take my dude moments where I can. For me nothing beats putting on some good quality headphones, and listening to some good tunes. My tastes are eclectic although currently really digging Gov't Mule (DB, did I ever thank you for your recommendation? 90% of my replies on this board vanish into the ether thanks to tapatalk). For me it's like putting up a sign saying "This Dude is not in" and just losing myself in sound.

But there's many other things that can be dudely to me, depending on the time available, and whether I'm on call. I like to vape, either nicotine or Mary Jane (or both), indulge in good coffee, very dark chocolate, wine, whisky, kratom.. I make a mean fuckin' rib-eye, I love to kick back with my special lady and watch some TV. Only takes a few minutes of dudely downtime to balance out all the stress and pressure of my job. Well, I don't really subscribe to the stress aspect but the pressure is just in the nature of the thing.

If you will it, dude.. It is no dream.

Go to our camper and slack. Take the kids to the beach by day and sit by the fire and have a few oat sodas by night.
Music also plays a role.
Festivals are very very Dude. All day music and a generally very laid back attitude.
And riding the bike. It really alleviates stress.
It actually is being used as therapy. For real...

Oh yeah and my dog.
I can devote myself to enhancing my Dudeness for years and never achieve the general Dudeliness of my dog.
He is a born Dude.

Out here we are all his children

Judd Dude

Hmm good question dude.
Myself I like to enjoy a good walk down a country road, or in the fields next to my home. I also like to take the boat out and throw a hook and line into the water and see if I can catch dinner, or just cruise the lake at slow speed. I also heavily partake in BBQ smoking and grilling. There's just somethin about chillin by the pit with an oat soda or six, watching the sweet blue smoke puff out the chimney stack. In the colder months we like to cook over a campfire using a big cast iron Dutch oven. Somethin about cookin great food in such a simple manner over a fire really warms the soul.

You're making me hungry, dude. I'm with you on this one. Don't get to BBQ outside as often as I'd like, but I always find cooking a perfect steak is a very natural, zesty and dude-like enterprise.

Ynot Dude

I like to get my Dude on surfing. One with nature and whatnot. Offroad running with my dogs, a little salt water fishing. Mostly solo time, or with the special lady friend.

jgiffin

Chilling in the backyard with a brew and/or cigar. Walking the dogs and watching them play in the stream...that looks exhausting. Throwing together some straight-up Iron Chef grub when time allows on the weekends. Sitting in the den and contemplating the oddities of history, chance, and luck. More recently, brewing has been an uber-relaxing activity. Basically, anything that lets/makes me focus on the here and now and sinks the past and future into the void.

I like yer style dude. Too often our thinking becomes very uptight and we forget that life after all is the here and now and not about livin in the fuckin past or future...
