 Hi dudes,
I,m brand new here and wondered if there are any examples of dude wedding ceremonies I could take tips from as I,ve been asked to marry some friends in two weeks?

so how did it go?

did you wear a robe?

if not that's cool

I have officiated at two weddings.

You may wear whatever does not uptight the bride and groom or otherwise diminishes their Karma on such a happy occasion.

You can wear shorts, t-shirt, and a bathrobe and sandals if that is your thing. Just let the couple getting married know the type of ceremony you perform-- uptight, serious, not so serious, humorous, costume you may wear, formal wear, informal wear, whatever,-- you officiate the wedding which means you may be the director of the wedding as well. Don't be uptight, shit happens, be flexible, go with the flow dude.

I agree with Walterdude.  If a couple asks a Dudeist to officiate at their wedding, they must surely expect that it won't be a strictly "traditional" ceremony and will likely be a rather casual event.  And they shouldn't be surprised if you choose to wear a bathrobe, shorts, sandals, sunglasses, or whatever you think is appropriate to represent yourself as a Dudeist; after all, they wouldn't question the priest's vestments if they were getting married in a Christian church, would they?

On the other hand, it is their ceremony so I think "flexible" is the key word.  As long as you take care of all of the legal stuff and abide by your Dudeist beliefs, it doesn't really matter what you wear or what kind of ceremony you perform as long as the couple is cool with what you do.
I don't go to church on Sunday
Don't get on my knees to pray
Don't memorize the books of the Bible
I got my own special way
