 :o Just a thought...

It might not be a very good idea to upload nude photos of yourself if you don't want them to be spread all over the Internet. Oh, I forgot; "celebrates" are special...

"Nude photo iCloud hack angers celebrities"

Awwwwww, poor babies; someone hacked their zesty coitus pictures...

Sorry man, but that's aggressive, fascist UNDUDE thinking. You're trying to put the yoke of blame on the victim. Even if it's for humorous endeavor it's perpetuating a wrong way to look at these kinds of crimes. If someone steals my wallet, it's not my fault that I keep money in there. Catch the drift?

Just my opinion.

I don't think it's so much about blame as about practicality.
I don't particularly "Blame" Apple either these sort of security leaks are going to be a fact of life.
Like pick pockets. I was always told when I was a kid and we went to Yankee stadium (used to be a magnet for pickpockets) to put my wallet in my front pocket. It's a matter of being practical.

I'm pretty sure that what happened here is that people didn't understand that the stuff they were keeping on their personal phone was being backed up to the cloud. Then of course it's open to nefarious characters.

BTW where are the photos? She's hot!

You'd have to resort to the google for the photos, sir. They are certainly floating about in the ether, as it were.

And you're right, it's not so much blame as some statements imply it, I guess. Sorry if I came off as harsh, I had just finished a multi hour "discussion" about this exact issue (stupid spoiled celebrities, and so on) before I came here to unwind and saw that and was just  :o

Everyone's entitled to their own opinions. Mine personally is that if you chose to use technology for a little at home fun, that doesn't make it ok to laugh about being caught with your pants down (pun intention ;) ). I also don't think being black means it's your fault for police brutality, or being a fur wearer means someone gets to throw paint on your clothes. I'm more in the "don't harsh someone else's mellow" camp, I guess... Again, apologize if it came off as preachy wasn't my intent.

Being black is not to blame for police brutality but again this is different and again it's not about blame.
Being a 23 year old white chick in a bikini on the sidewalk of an urban neighborhood at midnight is not to "Blame" for the inevitable either. But come on. You just don't do that.
In some perfect universe somewhere people can do whatever they please without consequences.

I hope to find that place some day. In the mean time I'd say don't store nude photos of yourself somewhere off in cyberspace if you don't want them to "get out". Hey in the long run I'm betting it will help their careers anyway.

Any way on topic.
This is going too far I believe.

Dude, you miss my point; getting hacked is undude, and the hacker is acting in an undude manner, but I was referring to so-called "celebrities" who make the news because their precious photos are stolen and put on the Net; if it would have been your everyday dude, people the square community doesn't give a shit about, you would have never heard of it.

I can see both sides of the issue, but in my opinion the simplest answer is this:  If you're a well-known individual and you don't want nude photos of yourself all over the Internet, don't take any.   ;D
I don't go to church on Sunday
Don't get on my knees to pray
Don't memorize the books of the Bible
I got my own special way

Hacking is a crime, man. And not some bogus malum-in-se stuff either. We're talking pure malum-per-se. Giving people the business, so to speak. On that level, the hacker guy needs to get fisted real quick like. I wouldn't want my circa 2004 Nokia hacked, either, and I don't have shit on there.

On the other hand, I don't have a lot of sympathy for peoples who have naked pictures hacked, feign outrage, and then profit by capitalizing on the scandal or new image. I don't know that any of these chicks have done that yet. We have seen a lot of it previously. I mean, fuck, the whole celebrity-as-celebrity thing had its genesis with Paris Hilton's green-and-black homage to Fellini meets William H. Nutsack.

It's already been announced that it's a crime to view some of the pictures, seems one or more of the people were under 18 when they were taken so by USA law you ARE a child pornographer if you so much as look at them.

Putting the bogus notion of if you are popular then it is okay to invade your privacy aside. What happened to these people can be summed up like this, what the hacker or hackers have done is no different then when the government was Illegally monitoring citizens through wire tapping etc... You wouldn't like it if the government did it to you, you shouldn't like it when a hacker does it to someone she or he finds interesting. Unless you believe it is okay to lose your freedoms because you have become a person of interest.
