I appreciate how they're maintaining the fiction this was a "Pentagon" decision and not directly brokered by the White House.

Let's dust it up, then. It's evident the US traded a wartime traitor for five high-value enemy combatants. The administration knew, or reasonably should have known, of these circumstances before illegally approving the exchange for political purposes.
