Hey, Dudes, I figure we all prolly garner some new nugget of truth/symbolism/interest/meaning/import/miscellany every time we watch TBL. A spot to compile those notes might be of some utility. If nothing else it might be interesting to figure out why it took me 17x viewings to pick up something you got the first time, but you missed something I got after the fifth time. Or not, but whatever.

Anyway, here's the new shit I picked up when I re-watched it last week.

1. Walter doesn't put Cynthia's dog back in the crate - or in the Dude's car - after the bowling scene. Poor little guy seems left in the parking lot.

2.  Maude, the green-robed figure riding the magic carpet, also bowled the ball that picked the Dude up in the finger holes. Had to slow-mo that bad-boy, but it's her.

3. They smoke cigarettes in the bowling alley. Sure, that happened in the early 90s. It just looks odd now.

4. The nihilist scissors that later chase the Dude are presaged in Maude's apartment. There are huge paintings of them on the wall.

5. In the scene where they spread Donny's ashes, when the Dude raises his arms to shoo-away Walter, you can see the wire to Jeff Bridges's microphone. I saw that a long time ago but only remembered it after reading another post here about the sound man that seems to wander through the scene, too. Seems like they may have been having sound problems on the scene that day.

Far fucking out, dude; I dig the way you do business. Interesting stuff.

Caesar dude

The dude doesn't eat anything...is he a veggie?

Food for thought! :)

That's fucking interesting. Particularly given Donny's enthusiasm for In 'n' Out burgers.
I hadn't really considered the Dude's dietary regimen.
As a long-time veggie, and thorough, myself, I can wholeheartedly recommend it.
Damn. Now you've got me thinking about food.
What the fuck are you talking about?
