I realized the other day that The Dude has the same formal name as Maude's father, yet not only did they have sex, but she wanted to conceive a child with him.

Would you even sleep with someone who isn't related but shares your last name, or would it creep you out?

Yeah, and I don't think a lot of Lebowski viewers catch it since The Dude is almost never called by his formal name.

I knew someone who married a bloke with the last same name just so she didn't have to change hers.

agreed. also plus a chick called 'neil' would be sorta weird anyway, wouldn't be so weird if it was a unisex name. or if they were way hot i probably wouldn't be preoccupied with their handle.
