Masked Dude

One friend and his wife today welcomed their little girl into the world at 8:56am.

Another friend was charged with first-degree murder of his girlfriend, whose sister I'm good friends with.

Weeks after a very good friend I grew up with killed herself.

My analytical objective side tells me there's a big circle of life, and we all live in nature's dance of existence. People die, people live. We have no choice but to live in this wonderful system.

My subjective side tells me, what the fuck? I don't believe in luck or karma or that kind of thing, but this has really tested my mission to keep on with life.

I feel... odd. Not good, not bad. A part of me is saddened, but the other part of me is glad that I haven't done what I used to do when stressed.

Dude, the more years go by, the more births and deaths you will encounter.  I can identify because of my own experience just in the last few years of my life... over a dozen people I knew went by various ways - suicide, most by cancer.  Let yourself grieve, then keep yourself surrounded by people who love and care for you if you can.  And don't stop posting here.  ;-)

Hey masked dude. My heart goes out to you mate a few years ago my life fell apart. My best friend killed his wife and then himself. I was just coming to terms with that when exactly three years ago today my special lady friend bumped her head and is still sleeping.

It's been a long road and I'm still travelling on it. As Hominid says, just make sure you've got good people around you and cut loose every now and again...just say fuck it and go and get drunk or take a drive out to the ocean. Anything to clear your head.

Your not alone man and you never will be.

Peace.

If I might point out; dude, you're going to be OK, you're going to make it. You're going through the natural grieving cycle. Nothing to worry about, it's healthy and normal. Life goes on, man. And to your friend, and his special lady friend who just had a little Lebowski; congrats, a new life is born! That's awesome!

Thanks, everyone. Seriously, thanks so much. I just feel strange. I've had friends commit suicide in the past, and witnessed death up close, but I'm glad I'm taking it better these days.

My friend who just had a little one is so happy. I even posted something in Hebrew (they're Jewish) to him. It's good that I'm able to see things more clearly in my older years. :)

And Caesar, thanks so much. I can't imagine how you feel, but I'm glad you can offer heartfelt condolences. I hope all works well for you. I think I will have a few drinks later.

And Hominid, thanks for telling me to stay. That counts for you, too. You can't bug out on us. :)

DB, yeah, I'll get through it. I'm sure of that. I've got a few art projects so that will keep my mind going. Not that it keeps my mind off it, but I'll have something to do.

I sorry there is not a lot I can say on this, only give my condolences, and agree with Hominid, the longer you're around, the more of this you're going to experience, and unfortunately the closer to you they get to you.

Happy for the birth, sad for the rest.

I don't think there are any words to say for what your going through I feel for your loss. Both you and Caeser dude are going through a lot of unpleasant times. Just try and focus on the positive and I hope for things to get better for you guys.
