He has been doing a lot of media of late....that is why he is very seldom on the forum. 8)

Actually put the question on the page in the Dudespaper (under comments).

To a certain extent we hold principles of anonymity here, people who talk here do post on the Dudespaper but use other names here because they wish to keep both areas separate, as is their right.

And using the comments on the page means you are talking to the person themselves (if, as many do, they are watching the comments for constructive criticism).

Finally I'm sure there are data protection issues involved as well (on both sides of the pond) which mean we are not just going to give information like that out.

If the person wishes to be contacted they will have given contact details on the page on the Dudespaper.

Just catching up with posts and find it interesting this topic is on the dudespaper while a recent thread "discussing" religious related postings was locked out.
Was the thread causing too many negative vibes and if so should the article also be removed as it is religious in tone?
By the way, happy new year all

No No do not remove. The thread you refer to is resolved no need to bring in false marmots to the bath. The article on Dudespaper has high votes and does not push any belief, rather shows how uptight christians need chill and take it easy. Good stuff for those dudes like me, so please dont take it down. That would be, like pissing on my rug.

Happy Dude year to you also  8)

I dig that.
As far as the article goes it does point out the nearly universal hippocracy in Chistianity (the leader lives in a palace called the vatican? Cmon!)
But to be honest I really believe that what Christians think and do is and should be dictated by Christian text, not by the individual. And the foundational belief are not chill at all IMHO.
The Nicene creed is the nutshell version of core beliefs and none of it is optional. If it doesn't work for you then it's pretty simple. Yer not a Christian no matter how much you dig the Jesus' style.

Nicene creed.
Quote
I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible.

And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all worlds; God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God; begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father, by whom all things were made.

Who, for us men for our salvation, came down from heaven, and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the virgin Mary, and was made man; and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate; He suffered and was buried; and the third day He rose again, according to the Scriptures; and ascended into heaven, and sits on the right hand of the Father; and He shall come again, with glory, to judge the quick and the dead; whose kingdom shall have no end.

And I believe in the Holy Ghost, the Lord and Giver of Life; who proceeds from the Father [and the Son]; who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified; who spoke by the prophets.

And I believe one holy catholic and apostolic Church. I acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins; and I look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.
Tell Christians to chill all you like but seems to me that the foundations are not in any respect "chill".
Compare that to Dudeism
Quote
Down through the ages, this ?rebel shrug? has fortified many successful creeds ? Buddhism, Christianity, Sufism, John Lennonism and Fo?-Shizzle-my-Nizzlism. The idea is this: Life is short and complicated and nobody knows what to do about it. So don?t do anything about it. Just take it easy, man. Stop worrying so much whether you?ll make it into the finals. Kick back with some friends and some oat soda and whether you roll strikes or gutters, do your best to be true to yourself and others ? that is to say, abide.
To me it looks like arrogant certainty versus intellectual humility.
Discussions about Christianity in the context of Dudeism tend to be the thorniest we deal with in my experience.
Comparing the above 2 creeds it seems evident to me that one can not be a Christian and a Dude.
But that's just like my opinion man.
I just know that I shouldn't open this can of worms but ..... ah fuck it man.

I couldn't agree more Biker Dude.

It's more like mumbo jumbo versus rational thought.

I've watched horror films with less fiction in them than that creed!

Peace.

Well horror movie or not it is extremely intolerant of other views.
The whole "one true" this and that and the "to judge" bla bla.
The opposite of abiding. The seed of intolerance lies at the very core of such religions as Christianity and Islam.
Both traffic in absolute certainties. And in my opinion, certainty of absurdities.
That opens the door to just about anything.
For instance listen to this horrible apology for genocide. A slaughter that to a person of "Faith" is perfectly moral because it is God's command. This will fry your bacon!

My response is if it's God's Will, then HE can do the killing.  Why should I (or you or anyone else) be the hit man?

milnie

No worries dudes, nothing's fucked here. Just thought I'd ask, like a child who walks in half way through and all that. Peace

But it's ok Biker Dude...it's what the untenable long haired bearded blue eyed Jesus wanted....yeah...that's right ...that fictional character with as much credibility as Zeus or Loki or (insert mythical deity here) has.

Fuck em mate it's a worse story than Twilight... (actually twilight has a bit more credibility).

I personally couldn't give a shit about "Christian" Dude he's either on a mission to convert dude from his path of slackness or is so fucking up his own arse that his rectum is competing with his tonsils..

You can't have it both ways.....either be dude...or be an arsehole...

If you're a Christian and you want to be a dude then guess what!?

Peace DUDES!
