What is Considered Dude or Not?

I'm new to Dudeism. I've been researching and only get the basic jist which is "take 'er easy", but I'm still confused on what exactly is considered dude and what isn't. Is it just up to the opinion of each follower or is there something I'm not seeing here? Sorry if this question seems stupid but I just wanted some clarification in plain English.

What is dude?....well dude you just captured the first essence of being dude by asking the question for others to answer instead of reading through the whole frickin' forum to find the answer...
